Despite the comeback this was a great game for the good guys. They dictated the game for the most part, including OT when they could have been deflated. I’m extremely impressed and optimistic based on the turnaround from game 1 to 2.
If the Islanders had a couple of big time finishers like Boston, Avalanche, or Edmonton, they would beat most teams in playoffs easily, Trotz system is close to perfect when you see how the current team is constructed.
this.... i don't follow the ins/out of this team like i did in the 70's and 80's but every time i watch a game i say to myself - shit if they had 1-2 first line stand out guys they would be very tough to beat. realize they don't grow on trees and the financials are always difficult to maneuver. was convinced they would lose earlier in the playoffs than last year but now i'm not so sure. i'm already surprised they split in boston.
Unbelievable decision by Beauvillier to not shoot with half the net open. That might be the missed opportunity of the entire series.
Bad goal to lose on. Game 4 is a must. I wish this team had a better top 6. Lack of offense is killing this team.
Unfortunately that’s just what you get from this team some days — outplay the opponent but can’t score.
