This is how I feel too, @Brook! My excitement level is: HIGH. I've said it before, but last year was so bad, that anything would be an upgrade. So in that way, every Jets fan should be pumped for 2021. You are guaranteed to see a better product.
Had a dream we have the 9th and 10th pick overall next draft. I could see us being 6-11/5-12 and show promise for the future. Seattle also could regress in the toughest division in football
I'm more interested then excited at the moment, which is a huge improvement from last season. Looking to see how well Wilson takes his lumps, seeing how the RB committee unfolds, whether our WR corp has a gamebreaker in it and seeing if Berrios can become a Edelmann/Beasley type player that I think we lack. Still have massive concerns about our Defence but I'd rather we'd let our new QB loose to try and win games then have a mean D where we'd be sitting on low scoring game hoping we somehow can manufacture a single point scoring drive from somewhere. Wins/Losses not that importnat for me this year - I just don't want to be cringing everytime we enter the field.
Maybe it's just being numb from the Jets drafting 3 straight QB busts. Did you watch any of Zach's games at BYU? If not, I recommend that you go to YouTube and watch the games from this past season. That should help you get over your numbness and gain some excitement.
Berrios may not even make the team. IMO he isn't going to be an Edelmann/Beasley-type of player. You can cross that off your list now. We still have Crowder and Moore ahead of him on the depth chart. Since Moore will also be returning punts, there's no urgency or real reason to keep Berrios. He'd better have a great TC and preseason.
I'm always excited when we have a fresh face at QB and new HC usually, wasn't for the past 2 HCs but tried to be optimistic. This feels different and I'm def ready to be hurt again but I'm level 10 excited rn. I feel like we finally have the right GM and he is putting his staff together this year and we start to take off #JETLIFE
Well K'OB ,it generally goes Jets/Mets/Islanders or Giants/Yankees/Rangers for Newyawkas For NJ crowd the hockey and baseball teams are mixed. Most NJ fans root for Devils. For me the strange bird Brook, my one and only team is Jets. Don't follow any other NY teams during regular season. if they are in the playoffs I will watch the elimination games time to time but that's it. For example Mets played in World Series a few years back, I didn't even watch one game. Nets are in the playoffs and I am yet to watch a game. Maybe will watch when they play the Lakers in finals. Hockey sucks, Basketball sucks more, Baseball sucks most. Mic drop!
I’m definitely in a SOJ cycle, This is the most bored I’ve been for any off-season. I’m sure I’ll snap out of it in September but I can hardly be bothered finishing this po
I’m cautiously optimistic about next season. I don’t think I’ve seen an off-season where everybody seemed this pumped to play. That’s a really good sign. The team just has a cohesive, positive vibe that’s a little infectious. I like where it seems we’re heading.
This is exactly where I'm at too. I'm not expecting playoffs this year, but if we can be in the mix after turkey day games and watch meaningful games it will be a HUGE step forward. Then honestly, 2022 we start to chatter about playoffs. And while this ISN'T my expectation, I can't seem to shake the feeling that this team is going to be A LOT better than people think, and Zach Wilson is going to be BIG TIME out of the gate. I'm getting fat Rex vibes from Saleh.
Every season I choose a 'roster crush' from amongst the depth guys to keep things intresting for me as we're generally out of the running early on. Berrios was my guy from last year and whilst I'm not supposing he's going anywhere near Canton, I'll keep rooting for him till we hit the final 53 man roster where I'll probably select again.
