Game 5 tonight. To say this game is huge would be an understatement. I just hope Trotz stays with Sorokin. Nothing against Varlamov who has been great this season but Sorokin has played better against the Pens. Hoping they can go up 3-2 with a chance to close it out Wednesday at Nassau. LGI.
Starting Varlamov at this point would be a fireable offense (and I am not in any way suggesting that Trotz would be fired if he did it). There is no intelligent argument against starting Sorokin, barring him getting injured some time today.
1-1 in a period where they practically had no offense for about 18 of the 20 minutes is a win in my book.
And a 2-1 deficit, with as bad we played that period, is still a win. Maybe they’ve been holding back for the 3rd.
Playing possum by being thoroughly outplayed for two periods doesn't sound like a very effective strategy to me.
2-2 after regulation. Sorokin has cemented his spot as the #1. He basically kept us in this one. Hoping for another OT win and we take this back to Nassau up 3-2. Really we have no business winning this game the way they have played.
“I have enough time for a quick run during intermission.” walk back into the house to the sounds of the Isles celebrating. I need to start running faster.
What a win. Sorokin is the man. Without him we lose big. Finish these bastards on Wednesday. I hate the Pens as much as I hate the Rangers.
Big win for the Isles last night. Sometimes you have to win games like that if you want to win a series. Jarry was embarrassing on that pass, but every Isles fan will take it. I agree with you guys. Definitely want to finish them off Game 6 and avoid a Game 7 in Pittsburgh.
