JD was basically one year into a rebuild. Did you expect anything different, especially with a QB that you thought sucked? Get a fucking grip.
psyched/pumped/excited to me seem pretty similar... and, again, to me, seem about EXECTATIONS of being GOOD- ie- at least a solid playoff contender all the way to beinga portential SB contender.... so ima 4/10 on THAT scale on the CURIOSITY scale i am 9/10 cos of what you said above COMPLETELY diff team... a QB who hasnt already established himself as ONE OF THE WORST STARTING QBS in the NFL for 2 years prior.
I am always excited in the off season. This year a bit more than normal now that it seems we have a competant GM and coaching staff, a couple of offense of weapons. More importantly we improved the oline
Out of interest, do Jets fans follow the Mets and Giants fans follow Yankees? As a general rule, I am sure I have seen plenty of NYY fans on here tbh
yes K'OB as a GENERAL RULE. as you noted, there are definitely exceptions, but as a general rule from someone who grew up in NJ his entire life, Giants/Yankees seem to go together in a lot of households and Jets/Mets seem to be a combination. Much more common than Giants/Mets fans or Jets/Yankees fans. My theory is that it has to do with how old someone is (Jets and Mets were both seem as cool teams in the late 60's when the Giants and Yankees weren't as good...same thing kinda applies to the mid 80's...yes the Giants were very good, but the Jets were good as well and the Mets were much better than the Yankees at that point). So I think it depends on when someone first became a fan....and also, an attraction to underdogs in general, since the Jets and Mets have both been traditional viewed as the "2nd teams of NY" behind the Giants and Yankees for obvious reasons.
lol the Devils can't get any love? I figured most Jets fans who live in Jersey would be Devils fans, no?
For me, Mets Knicks (haven't followed since Jeremy Lin left) Rangers (haven't followed since Jean Ratelle left) Also follow but not as intensely, the LA Dodgers (grew up a Dodger fan) and I hate to say this, I follow the NY Giants for some strange reason. Of course, the Dodgers and Giants are relegated to enemy status when playing the Mets and Jets. Don't follow soccer (football) except for the World Cup.
To take what Leahy said a bit farther, I think that the Giants, Yankees, Knicks and Rangers have always been the "establishment" teams for New York. The Dodgers and (baseball) Giants were always looked down on and the Mets were their replacement, even their uniforms were derived from a hybrid of their designs and colors. The Mets and Jets have always been the underdogs or renegades, the Islanders too - at least for those on Long Island. Even in the sixties and seventies there was a bit of decorum at Giants games and a much older fan base. Those fans wore suits, ties, hats and overcoats to games - right from the start Jets fans were younger, louder and more practically dressed in jeans, parkas and boots for bad weather games.
