actually last year I believe week 15 or so, Jets blocked a punt. I can’t remember the guys name though ...
Now that you mention it, I think you're right. I think I saw it, and was shocked, because I couldnt' remember the Jets ever threatening to block a punt recently, much less actually doing it.
yes that was actually week 11 against the Chargers who were legit the worse ST unit in the NFL. Then in week 15 against the Rams, JT Hassell blocked a punt as well. after a drought, a LONG one, Kevin Pierre Louis blocked a punt in 2018. Then in 2019 against the Ravens, Basham blocked a punt that was returned for a TD. So the unit has def picked up the blocked punts lately
That had to be an accident while he was falling down. That's all he ever did - fall down. Another fine Jets first round pick.
I agree 100%, injuries happen and we have a 17th game this year too. If we just went with 2 where would we get a replacement from, during the season, if injuries accured?
Wow JT Hassell, lol I would never have guessed that no matter how many guesses you gave me. gotta give Boyer some probs on the block uptick. I’m glad we’ve Westhoff’d him thru all the coaching turnover.
Geez, Louise, are you guys ever asleep at the wheel. Joe McKnight vs Dallas. I couldn't find a video that's up anymore except for a Facebook link and I don't belong to that chit, so this is the best I could do. I was at that game (what else). The New Dump exploded. I still can't believe that guy got murdered. What a tragedy.
LOL there’s no way I would have knew who that was off hand. I looked that up because I surely didn’t remember Henry Anderson had a blocked punt recently until you mentioned it, then I remember it was against the Chargers, who had an awful ST all year. Boyer has made it through 3 staffs (I believe), he must have big time admiration with the higher ups
I was wondering when somebody was going to mention the Dallas game. I’ll go back to 1991 - anybody remember Chris Burkett blocking a Reggie Roby punt right before halftime, scooping it up and running into the end zone?....... The Jets first ever win against the Steelers in 1988 was set up with a blocked punt by a reserve CB named Josh Booty. If you don’t remember the play how about the name? LOL
I agree, but you can't blame him. Wouldn't you rather play for a contender and have a shot at getting to and winning another SB than a rebuilding team, even though you love the HC? Now if he's negotiating with some other team that isn't a contender, but offered a lot more than the Jets, or if he's just using the Jets to try to get more money from the other team, then fuck him.
he probably wants to play for a team who can contend for a superbowl. saleh probably told him if he can't find one that he'd take him on the jets. nothing wrong with that
