McNeil and Conforto put on the IL. Khalil Lee and Johneshwy Fargas, they of the zero major league appearances between them, will be replacing them. Oh boy.

I think they will end up looking for help from other teams.

 

Walker pitches three scoreless innings, and is then pulled with “left side tightness.” Oy.

Pillar has multiple nasal fractures. He is meeting with a facial specialist to determine next steps.

Bullpen day always has me on pins and needles. Must watch, but maybe not for the right reasons.

 

Great win last night with a bunch of "no-names."

 

McCann was the second best free agent catcher, right? Haaaaaaaa

Mets get three unearned runs, but the inning ends on Khalil Lee's 8th strikeout in 8 major league plate appearances.

 

And then Lee with the tremendous catch to save an extra base hit and tie game.

 

Come on McCann bring him in.

2 out of 3 with this patchwork team is a success.

 

As great as that bullpen day win was, it’s not ideal to use our relievers like that. (Rojas deserves a lot of credit for navigating this injury crisis.) It came back to bite us today, when they had to trot out Loup for one more pitch than he usually throws.

Never thought that we’d need SPs, but here we are. Really hope that one of the kids is ready. Need to bridge this month, or until one of Cookie, Lugo, or Syndergaard comes back. Thankfully, an off day tomorrow.
