What difference does it make in how many wins they get? Isn't the goal of a new regime, new QB, and a bunch of new starters to get better and progress as the season moves along? At the end of the season, all that matters is that the team is heading in the right direction whether they win 2, 4, 6, or 8 games. The only thing the win total does is determine where we draft and what we need to improve on for next season in order to close out games.
Since when are players drafted just for their rookie season? Since when do bad teams, with little talent and bad coaching turn things around overnight? It takes time. But you know that. You're just continuing to do your trolling schtick, and it's way past being tired. It would be a shame, but if you don't stop the trolling, you should get a nice long vacation from TGG.
If its a good draft I'm sure it will but it will take time its a bunch of rookies and young guys, I dont think its gonna be hard to win more than last year and the prior clown HC
That's kind of a BS answer. You know perfectly well that Rome was not built in a day and that no matter how good a draft is, it takes time to develop young players.
Who’s asking for Rome? I asked a simple question about projecting our win total based on our off season. There’s a Grand Canyon size chasm between 2-14 and metaphoric Rome. This is JD’s second draft not here his first. It doesn’t a long time to start seeing some results in the NFL. Not sure why discussing potential wins upsets you so much.
The rebuilding of a franchise is not something that takes an incredible amount of time in this league. It's a bit of a misnomer that it does. It's not like the NHL or MLB where franchises are expected to go through a 3-4 year rebuild before the results are fruitful. The Dolphins did a complete tear-down and flipped from 5-11 to 10-6 in 2019-2020 The Chiefs flipped from 2-14 to 11-5 in 2012-2013 Colts 2-14 to 11-5 in 2011-2012 (although the 2-14 seemed planned). Titans 3-13 to 9-7 from 2016-2017 Rams - 4-12 to 11-5 in 2016-2017 Browns 0-16 to 7-8-1 in 2016-2017 Given how bad we were though, a 6 win season would be a relative success I'd think with a couple of competitive losses sprinkled in and a couple blowouts.
5-7 wins is realistic given the situation we're in. The question is will we see clear signs that they're heading in the right direction going into 2022.
But you didn't ask that did you? You asked how many wins does this draft class buy us? Even though it was and is a troll post I will answer the second question. The offseason I think the offseason acquisition's and draft class buys us 2-6 more wins. I think coach buys us 2-3 more wins. So any where from 4-9 wins total. Year after next I expect a run at the playoffs baring major injury. How many wins do you think it buys us?
You said I didn’t ask then proceeded to tell me I did ask WTF LOL. I see a 4-5 wins team if we’re lucky. We could have been that last year since if not for injuries. So I guess the draft class bought us an extra win or 2 hopefully. If this draft class and CS is as good as being advertised here then we’re talking closer to 7 wins. My money is on the former though.
You ask about the draft class then changed it up to the offseason, go ahead and pretend otherwise. Your reply to this post was better, welcome back to non trolling posts. I think our FA acquisitions will have a bigger impact on wins this year especially on defense. I think Davis and Moore will have a big Impact in the passing game. I think Zach will have some growing pains and lose us a couple and win us a couple. I would be more optimistic on wins but we have a very tough division but we should do well in our out conference games. If everything comes together and our defense is putting pressure on the QB consistently (Which is possible) and our run game over Beckton and AVT flourishes we can put on 10-11 wins. Everything would have to come together and it very rarely does for the Jets. Quinnen is already hurt .
The draft in general punctuates the end of the off season. After the draft and opponents are known is when we are usually start discussions on wins. Side note: I’m not going to knock your hustle, but don’t some of you guys find this “troll” monitoring tiring? Is there a prize for identifying the most troll posts are something?
You make it pretty obvious. Just stop doing it. I am glad you are back to posting. If the wins post was not a trolling post I apologize.
Not that I think the Jets are going to win a lot of games, but there is an argument to be made that they are getting their best defensive player back this season
