The controversy would come if Foles starts and struggles and then the fans cry for Wilson, or Wilson starts and struggles and the fans cry for Foles. And then there's the aspect of what is Foles's expectation - does he willingly sit back like he did in Philly and then get benched again in favor of the "Golden Child"?

If Wilson is going to be the FQB they need to make that unambiguously clear, and getting a guy like Foles might muddy the water a bit.

 

I don't see it muddying the water at all. Fields is the #2 pick in the draft. He will be the starter, if not immediately, then either at some point during this season or next year. Foles is not the answer. He is a spot starter and insurance. If he doesn't understand that, then he's stupid. The Jets didn't take Wilson at #2 to back Foles up for the next 5-10 years. If for some reason Foles didn't already know/understand what his role or future here would be, I'm sure that JD, Saleh, and LaFleur would make it crystal clear to Foles what his role would be here. The fans know what Foles' role is and Foles would know it. I don't see any possibility of controversy.

 

Should be intuitive not to film your young new QB with a downward facing camera angle like that. Makes him look like a schoolboy. Seriously, I've never taken a marketing class, but I've taken plenty of psych and film classes. This is just common sense. smh.

 

Sure, all interviews with athletes are "softball" level, but I think Zach comes across in this as just what the doctor ordered for this franchise:
