He would have been a good flyer at this point. My guess is our offense won't be featuring a fullback.

    Hamsah Nasirildeen S

    From NFL.com:
    Overview
Box safety projection with plus physical traits, but might need additional monitoring to see how he progresses from his ACL tear after playing just two games in 2020. He's a willing leader, good teammate and hard worker who has played for three different head coaches and defensive coordinators. Even while rehabbing, he made road trips to offer guidance and leadership to younger players and was celebrated by the entire sideline after grabbing an interception in one of his 2020 appearances. He can be a strong, capable tackler near the line of scrimmage, but needs to improve his understanding of angles and fundamentals as an open-field tackler. He could benefit from having one consistent teacher who is able to smooth out the wrinkles.
    Strengths
    • Team leader who faced down adversity at FSU.
    • High football character.
    • Worked exceptionally hard to make it back from injury for two games in 2020.
    • Led team in tackles as a sophomore and junior.
    • Thrives as late addition in the box.
    • Charges downhill to close down angles for runners.
    • Slippery maneuvering around bodies near the box.
    • Attacks tackles with thump behind his pads to leave a mark.
    • Length and size to contest bigger tight ends underneath.
    • Special teams background.
    Weaknesses
    • Suffered torn ACL in 2019.
    • Needs to play light on his feet for improved open-field tackling.
    • Inconsistent landmarks lead to broken tackles.
    • Allowed Travis Etienne and AJ Dillon to break free more than once.
    • Coverage discipline and instincts are below average.
    • Frequently lost on rub-route concepts.
    • Needs to see the windup before breaking on targets.
    • Might not have coverage awareness to play two-deep.

    From ProFootballNetwork.com:
    Hamsah Nasirildeen NFL Draft Profile
    • Position: Safety
    • School: Florida State
    • Current Year: Senior
    • Height: 6’3 1/4″
    • Weight: 215 pounds
    • Wingspan: 82 3/4″
    • Arm: 34 1/4″
    • Hand: 10″

Tony Pauline’s Hamsah Nasirildeen Scouting Report
Positives: Tough safety with nice size who is best playing in the box and between the numbers. Explosive run defender who squares into tackles and easily brings opponents down at the point of attack. Quick to read and diagnose, stays with assignments, and displays a good head for the ball. Works well with cornerbacks to bracket receivers in the middle of the field.

Negatives: Displays no burst and limited quickness. Not smooth flipping his hips and struggles making plays in reverse. Consistently beaten during coverage drills at Senior Bowl practices.

Analysis: Nasirildeen was a consistent defender for Florida State when healthy, but he comes with limitations at the next level. He’s a traditional run-defending strong safety who may be able to add 10 pounds to his frame and move to linebacker.

Another safety lol. At least this one seems like he's someone we should be drafting there.

How long before people start complaining that Douglas is focusing too much on defense?

I think JD needs to explain how all these ‘safeties’ are going to be used. Otherwise it looks like we have selected several of the same position!

I like this strategy. Just keep picking secondary and hope one hits

Is this safety playing safety or is he playing H back?

The first two may play LB and CB.

They look like special teams picks.

They got an outside corner, slot corner, coverage LB, and actual safety

We didn’t draft 3 or 4 safeties lol
