CB Jason Pinnock From NFL.com Overview There is much to process with the tape and the traits of Pinnock. He looks the part, with size, length and strength, and his testing confirmed the athleticism that can be found on tape. He has the potential to roadblock receivers from press but struggles to maintain his poise and pace when he gets beaten early in the route. He has ball skills when playing with his eyes forward, but his success rate and accuracy to challenge the catch-point goes way down with his back to the ball. He has the athleticism and physical tools that fit into Cover 3 and press-man concepts, but he shouldn't be left on an island. Strengths Physical specimen with prototypical size and length. Hand quickness and accuracy to jam up the release. Plus athleticism and agility on display. Makes smooth adjustments when routes cross his face. Good decision-maker against high-low route concepts. Able to contort and adjust body in mid-air. Can sky and pick the interception over top of the receiver. Desired size and strength in run support. Weaknesses Average recognition of play-action and misdirection. Tends to lose balance when opening hips to sprint in pursuit. Allowed six touchdowns of 25-plus yards since 2019. Panics and loses his bearings with back to the ball. Needs to improve timing at catch point. Below average finding proper positioning at times. Very average ball instincts and hand accuracy to play the football.
Jason Pinnock CB Pittsburgh Positives Nice-sized cornerback with an underrated game. Quick-footed in reverse, flips his hips in transition and plays heads-up football. Mixes it up with receivers throughout the route, positions himself to make plays on the pass, and possesses good ball skills. Physical, uses his hands to get off blocks and gives effort defending the run. Negatives Play speed is a major concern. Cannot recover. Lacks great closing burst. Analysis Pinnock is a hard-working cornerback with terrific ball skills and a feel for the position. He rarely plays to his 40 time and speed will be an issue, but Pinnock can line up in dime packages for a zone scheme.
Jason Pinnock isn't very good at turning for the ball It appears. I don't like that aspect of his game. Great size and traits though.
I have found a lot of contradictory stuff in these player reviews. You read them and it can give a player a major dogging and then in the analysis at the end say he had a great 2020 and you're like WTF you have just spent 2 paragraphs hating them lol
The grades on our last three picks (from CBCS Sportsline) went from C+ to C to B. Maybe JD's learning curve will get us a nice player somewhere in round six as he continues to improve.
Falcons just made a really nice pick at the end of round six: Adetokunbo Ogundeji EDGE, ND Height: 6-4, Weight: 268 31 other GMs all need to be fired at this point.
Kiper and these guys are just talking out of their asses at this point. They know more than half these guys will be cut by training camp.
