I forgot a period. Creed Humprhey and then move Mcgovern over to guard. Not that hard to figure out even without a period.

I like this approach in trade down scenario where the Jets trade 10 spots + pick up a 3rd.

I know, it was a joke.

Not that hard to figure out with a sense of humour ;)

I think you will be able to start attending playoff games within a year or two.

If Becton gets hurt again, I think it will be Fant, not AVT who plays LT. Clark or McDermott would play RT.

I underrated AVT for the same reason. USC hasn't been good in forever. Their players, especially their QBs, underachieve in the NFL (Leinert, Reggie Bush, Dave Cadigan). I think Joe McKnight is the RB whose name you forgot.

Very possible tbh but let's pray for an injury-free campaign for Becton

one of the reasons I like Jenkins at pick 34 is because of the Becton injury factor. Big man, had injuries in college and as a rookie...

    Becton-Avt-mcgovern-jenkins-fant

    If Becton goes down -

    Fant-avt-mcgovern-GVR-Jenkins
    Or
    Avt-GVR-mcgovern-Jenkins-Fant

And maybe Cameron Clarke can challenge GVR.

    I don't think they'd have to drop that far for a 3rd...maybe 4-5 spots - Cowboys only dropped 2.

I can fault Rockinz for a lot of things, but not for underrating AVT. At the link above is a list of USC players who have been drafted into the NFL. Take a look at it and see how many good players there are (not many imo). The Jets have great success with Marvin Powell, but that was in the days when USC was a perennial powerhouse team; otherwise, we haven't had a great deal of luck with USC players. The USC players the Jets have drafted are Dave Cadigan, Keyshawn Johnson, Mark Sanchez, Sam Darnold, Joe McKnight, Chuma Edoga, Windrell Hayes, Leonard Williams, Kurt Barber, Brian Luft, Joe Davis, Anthony Davis, Richard Wood, Mike Battle, and Gary Magner. That's not exactly a stellar list.

Then there's Chuma Edoga, Dave Cadigan, and quite a few others who either sucked or never lived up to their billing.

Not being wild about the trade up doesn't mean people didn't want to go o-line at 23. It just means we didn't want to make Tucker the most expensive lineman in the draft.

Ding ding ding ding! We have a winner!

That's the crux of the problem. He likes OL who aren't fits for our blocking scheme and he can't seem to understand what our blocking scheme is about. He evidently thinks any OL can play in any scheme.

Cleveland, like Dickerson and Deonte Brown are in no way, shape or form, fits for out blocking scheme.

Clark played LT in college, I believe, and could fill in at RT in a pinch. If anything, it should be McDermott, unless we take Jenkins. Edoga should be cut. He's awful.

Why don't we just take Jenkins and then if Becton gets hurt we don't have to scramble.

That would be much preferred, I just was saying what was the most extreme I’d be willing to go...

Had a heart attack when the Jets moved way out with Mims on the board last year... they got him anyway...

+ the board is stacked with at least 10 guys who could help the Jets so I’m not worried moving a bit further down...

Agree with where he is going with the USC connection and recognize the Jets haven’t been very successful, but I was talking specifically about USC OL lineage in the NFL. This is one area along with Safety and WR where there is quite a strong lineage of top NFL talent. For OL someone here already posted the many names culminating with Anthony Munoz arguably the best ever. Hope AVT add to that list for years to come.
