I’m not a fan JOK because he’s just not big enough to play LB.. plus he’s super raw.. I’d rather move down 5-10 spots and take Bolton
At first my gut said to trade back, but I think I lean stay put at 34. Take JOK or Teven. Then use our day 3 arsenal to move back into the third.
We def will need a Experienced QB, I like Minshew and I think that is a problem. Minshew has a lot of ppl who like him, and might cause a unwanted QB controversy. Personally I think that would be great. I'm sure Minshew is looking for a chance where he might be able to play. Other than that I agree, good stuff.
I agree CB is probably our biggest need. But will JD wait and get one in the 1st round? Or roll the dice on a day 2 pick this draft. Almost all the best DBs (not all, but almost) are taken early in the 1st round. Revis went 9. Maybe JD decided this 1st round he'd use on QB/OL, and he'll wait till 2022 for other 1st round skill picks? Certain positions are better off taken in the 1st, others can be found latter. And with 2 1sts in the next draft, I don't really know how JD will finish the roster.
Because 5 and 6 picks drafts have been so good to the Jets over time? Leaving them with a deep and stocked roster that competes every year?
Keep it in a box somewhere and never use it. It should be Schrodinger's Pick, never good or bad until somebody looks at it and we should all do our best not to look until the smell forces us too. Put another way: I think this regime is sunk already. Two bad decisions at the top of the draft wouldn't sink a good franchise but the Jets are the worst of the worst and two bad decisions like the ones the Jets made yesterday mean years of misery ahead of us until the next plan emerges.
No, but not every draft needs to have 10-12 players. Going into last night, we had 21 picks over the next two drafts. Down to 20 with the trade up.
My response was to the suggestion that we use the #34 and then trade up again into the 3rd round. Those kinds of trades tend to be expensive also.
4 guys I'd be happy with: 1. Teven Jenkins 2. JOKM 3. Terrace Marshall Jr. 4. Javonte Williams In no particular order. I'd imagine one of those top 3 will go to JAX
Eh he could manage as WLB in a 4-3. Plays bigger than he is and the frame has room for another 10 pounds
I would love Javonte Williams too and would lobby hard for him at 34 if we were running the type of offense he would thrive in. However, that doesn't seem to be the case.
If the Jags pass on JOK, would you guys trade down with LV? Would drop us down to 48 but would give us a 3rd around 80 overall. That’s tough for me. 14 spots is quite the fall and I’m not sure if one of the offensive guys I’d want would still be there but I’d like to get back in the 3rd.
He has potential but I don't like the raw aspect either. Reminds me a little bit of Jabrill Peppers coming out of college.
I'd feel more comfortable taking a first-round talent at 34 than dropping back that far. Draft is generally a total crapshoot beginning in round 3.
Love to see this The fact that multiple teams are trying to trade up means we might be able to recoup a third without having to move down as much as we thought.
