I don't dispute that, however, as I said, we had to have one of the elite 5. We got one so I'm happy. But for you to ignore the defense is ridiculous because it affects field position, unless you're ok losing every week 30-3. Plus, Saleh has his own scheme and we need a ton on defense. Just because the defense is ahead of the offense doesn't mean the defense is any good. The offense is just putrid. It also takes time to really build a solid defense. Another thing, Darnold sucked so how can anyone judge a line when he's trying to process information every play for 10 seconds. Wilson can escape pressure and be improvisational, which you know. So I'm not worried about him with Becton protecting his blindside & if we had selected an OL in round 2. JD decided that AVT was too good to pass up. I'm all for that. You go and get the player you want. In the end, it worked out.
Tampa wrapped it up with a LB. Interesting. It was their OL that got Patty killed. I know some were injured and coming back, but not sure how they could not take a lineman in the 1st round.
Could the jags possibly pass over another lineman when they just took the Blue chip QB to a 1-15 team? Comon Urban, lobby for some obscure LB.
Ok. So Jets going to keep 34th pick to get another OL? Wouldn’t be so bad. several CBs available. Trade down and still land a good OL, CB.
Still wouldn’t shock me to see JD trade down a few spots and try to get a 3rd or 4th back. So much talent left on the board, Jenkins, Elijah Moore, Javonte Williams, Liam Eichenberg, Dillon Radunz, Humphrey. And that’s just on offense.
No, it isn't ridiculous. You do realize all of the talent that JD added in FA, don't you? Then we have Saleh and a better scheme. We could still take a WLB in round 4, or if JD trades down and adds a 3rd round pick, in the 3rd. To answer your question asbout how can anyone judge a line, easy! Lewis sucks. Van Roten can be decent depth. The offense still needs more help. He could go a long way towards fixing the OL by taking Jenkins or Humphrey, and we'd have most of our OL set for the next 10 years. It doesn't take nearly as long to build a D as it does an offense.
