Defense waited until our third pick of this draft.

Asante Samuel or one of the pass rushers could do wonders for us.

 

Thinking Bateman for the Ravens here. Give Lamar a dude to throw to.

 

To be honest some Jets fans thought we should do just that. I still think it was a viable route but it will all depend on how Wilson turns out and to a lesser extent how Darnold looks as well in a better situation, which he would have been

 

I've seen multiple knowledgable Jags fans at an absolute loss over this pick. According to them, not only is RB not a need, they have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. Phew.

 

And boom goes the dynamite. Bateman to the Ravens.

They really pound you into the ground with commercials at the back end of the first round huh.

 

Because A) trading up for a guard isn't sexy, and B) people forget this isn't exactly a normal year in terms of scouting the middle-late rounds of the draft

 

Nonsense! Drafting a pass rusher would be stupid! We already could have a very strong pass rush and need to find out what we have in Zuniga and Huff. We have two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks in next year's draft and there will be 2-3 blue chip pass rushers. We have a great chance to get one of them. I could see Samuel, but I hope the pick is Jenkins or Humphrey or maybe a trade down and Elijah Moore.

 

Has there ever NOT been a commercial right as our pick is due ?

 

Always. But it feels like every pick is like that this year. They gave the first four or five relatively clean and now they're hammering these in.

 

The more of these 2nd rate WRs, RBs, OL, going off the board, the more top Edge and DB getting pushed down to our 2nd round pick. Just a few more to go. I can't shake the feeling JD is on the phone right now looking for a reasonable trade back to the 1sst deal for one of his prize Edge/DB player that will blow our socks off. This is the last missing piece to having an awesome draft. Fingers crossed!!!

 

Jenkins could be a decent value. A bit early for Humphrey, he would be a bit if a reach at 34.

Good! Turner to the Saints. Don't have to worry about JD being tempted.

 

It definitely could be early for Humphrey. Maybe we could trade down and still get Humphrey.

Yes, but I had no idea we could get AVT without trading up to at least 15. We had to trade to 14. I thought the top 5 would be gone by 23 unless we traded up. So, the next best option is to address a huge need on defense and then take an OL in round 2. My favorite Notre Dame LB is still sitting there. We may take him if we don't trade out and he's available at 34. Fits our defensive scheme perfectly. We had to get one of the elite 5 OL for me to come off drafting defense at 23. We did. I applaud the trade-up. Remember, I've been saying trade up since day 1 & grab the guy we want instead of hoping he falls. Everyone said I was crazy for wanting to trade up. This was even before I wanted defense.
