I'll refine in saying the trade is good. The trade is appropriate given the jump. But I don't like it. I agree though I'd expect a trade down now at 34.
I like the player but still don’t like trading away picks. I’ll feel much better if we get back a 3rd by trading back from 34. I only prefer to trade up for premium positions and usually like trading back all things equal...trading up for a guard is just weird to me, but if he’s on the level of a Quentin Nelson it’s worth it
GVR had a really rough start but improved dramatically as the year went on. Lewis alternated between terrible and injured. And if you follow his social media all pics of drinking. add in the overpaid contract, it was a bad singing by JD and it’s time to move on. dont get me wrong tho, GVR should be a backup not starter.
I wouldn’t trade back from 34. We need to accumulate as many blue chip players as possible. Someone is going to drop and be there at 34
The Idzik 12 was the Itchy and Scratchy of all drafts. I remember looking at it after Dexter McDougle was taken and thinking the Jets had gotten nobody worth playing to that point. Then they picked worse after that. You give Jimmy Johnson 12 picks and he'll build you a football team. You give the Jets those picks and they'll all compete for laughingstock status.
You guys upset about this...round three guys are going to be bigger question marks because there’s less tape this year. It’s better to address a big need with a sure thing. Any other year, it would be questionable. But this year it was the right move.
T They both sucked but GasedandConfused is convinced one is good and one isn't based on a 3 point gap on a 100 point PFF scale.
Have you seen all the desperation win-now moves they've made this offseason? And they're getting back some key defensive players that opted out last year. Bill doesn't want to end his career with a bunch of 7-9's while Brady's winning SB's.
I agree. I can’t stress enough how much I don’t care about two third rounders when you have three picks in the top 34 and already have the QB/LT/LG taken care of.
AVT Is a stud, he is a blue chip piece at Guard. Guards just aren't as valued In any draft. We got a really good football player. I'm very happy about this pick. He was never going to be considered for LT In the pros.
Honestly I don't know how much of a difference there is between a 3rd and a 5th rounder in this kind of unpredictable guessing game of a draft with opt-outs, the weird schedules, lack of in-person workouts and medical stuff, etc.
Do what you need to get the players you love. Not the ones that fall to you. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
