Because one of the biggest reasons we were successful in 2009 and 2010 was the offensive line. Games are won in the trenches and we have desperately needed a better offensive line
Also don't be surprised if we get a haul for the 34th pick. All those players falling out of the first round, JD will be on the phone through the morning.
OK, thanks. I thought I heard them say it was next year's 1st. Good, I'm glad that it wasn't that much.
not that it's gospel but PFF rated lewis 66.6 (average starter) 0 sacks allowed 544 snaps PFF rated GVR 63.0 (below average starter) 3 sacks allowed 752 snaps
From what I am reading he is a anchor LG but is versatile. I mean I just want my QB to be having really good guys on the line and thats how you build out. Hopefully CB or RB in round 2
protect wilson and open up holes in the run game. the left side of our o-line should be set for a decade.
I get it but how much better is he than the next best guard that will be available at 23? Is he that much better where we can afford to just dump 3rd round picks like that?
Yes, but aside from Teven Jenkins, not as good, and not sure things to start day one and play at a high level.
We might have gotten the guy we traded up for. My issue is the Jets roster blows chunks and we think we have a better shot shipping 3 quality picks out for 1? the 5th rounder back is something but the #66 was going to be a quality pick and the #86 not so far off of that.
Other thing to mention is we jumped the que coming up who have OLine needs which I’m very happy with. Trade out of 34 now I guess but could see edge there
I love collins. was hoping he'd fall to us at 23 but oh well. good pick arizona. thats why they didn't want to trade down
