Do. Not. Like. Little diff between him and Darnold. The jets basically gave away the #2 pick in the draft for NOTHING. We needed OL. Get a QB next year if Darnold didnt improve. Problem was the COACHING and personnel. Our QB may be better this year, but NOT because of Wilson replacing Darnold. That was an unnecessary wasted move.
So you’ve never seen Wilson play? I mean not liking the pick is one thing, saying there’s no difference between him and Darnold is another.
This thinking makes no sense, because even if the coaching was absolutely shyt which it def was the player should still show some signs of life or even improvement. You can be on a bad team and bad coaching while still looking like a guy that could get the job done. He didnt do that consistently and was the worst QB in the league year in and out. Men lie, women lie...but numbers dont lie. And I was the biggest Sam supporter and loved the pic and trade when it happened time to move on tho.
well, i hope i’m wrong. i think Darnold’s issue was Gase- plain and simple. Maybe we’ll see him improve in Carolina.
Well, I saw him play a bunch of weak competition, and i saw him go 19/30 w 1TD and 1 INT in a loss to the best team they played (juggernaut Coastal Carolina). Justin Fields I woukdve felt MUCH better about. Lets see how these two develop. Again, I just dont think ZW is ENOUGH of a diff to justify not getting MUCH NEEDED help elsrwhere. Go Jets!
Other Gms and top guys who know the NFL in and out have passed on Fields and we are ten picks into the draft. Not saying they are always right but there has to be a reason, and I doubt Zach would of fell past SF at 3.
There are some intangibles: Wilson has confidence, to the point of ego (which will have to reeled in a bit, and I think Salah will do that). Darnold had confidence problems at USC, as well as issues with his reads.
he played good in that game. the stats are misleading. i also watched fields get walloped by mac jones and alabama and go 17-33 51.4% 194 yards . you really gonna judge on the stats of 1 game?
