I just don't think the 49ers will really take Jones at 3. Maybe I am wrong. We will see. So my final QB predictions for tonight are: 1. Jaguars-Trevor Lawrence 2. Jets-Zach Wilson 3. 49ers- Trey Lance 7. Broncos (Trade up)-Justin Fields 13. Washington Football Team (Trade Up)-Mac Jones
I agree Darkknight. I am adopting a "believe it when I see it" attitude toward the Niners taking Jones at 3.
I just can't imagine why the Niners wouldn't take Fields. It seems ridiculous to me that they're not chomping at the bit to take whoever the Jets don't take between Wilson and Fields. Hearing nothing but Lance/Jones rumors with them has been mind-boggling to me.
At this point want him to drop in accordance to the prevailing narrative. That way we can add him to the growing long list of QBs the NFL got wrong in the draft.
Imagine being a Jags fan and finally having this day here - this amazing moment in franchise history - and wanting nothing more than to bathe in it all day and into the evening... ...and here come Rap with this isht. lmfao.
unless it is all a giant smokescreen for them taking Fields...which I am going to say it is. I'm going on record now...Niners take Fields at 3. if I am wrong, I will invite everyone on TGG over to Brook's house for a Week 1 watch party to kick off the 2021 season!
That would be my pick at 3 easily. I just have heard it's down to Jones and Lance. Could be a smokescreen for sure, but why? No need knowing Lawrence to the Jags and Wilson to the Jets.
yeah I agree it makes no sense, DarkKnight, but you know how paranoid and obsessive NFL front offices and head coaches can be, and from what NC said in another thread about Kyle Shanahan, he seems like an arrogant prick, so I could see the Niners running some sort of half-assed CIA Black Op to hide the fact they are taking Fields just bc they can and just for the hell of it to keep everyone guessing.
Yupper. I thought trading with Carolina (8) for McCaffrey, then using 8 on Lance would be ideal. Keep Sam for his 4th, then change over to Lance. So much more we could have done with the #2 overall.
because most teams and scouts don't view fields as good as fans view him. fans tend to be high on impressive athletes. fields is an impressive athlete but only just good as a QB.
On @Brook! draft challenge I had Bengals taking Pitts at 4. My thinking was they need both OL and WR help, and Pitts is the only option that high that gives them both. Sowell would benefit the OL 100% but help the WR 0%. Chase would do the opposite, 0% OL, 100% WR. But Pitts helps BOTH. OL 20% and WR 80%. Pitts is a large, strong, and willing blocker on the line sealing the edge, picking up blitzers, etc, and also a dominant in the passing game. They can still draft more OL/T and WR help later in the draft, but Pitts (to me) is their answer at 4.
Maybe he will fall down to us at #23 and then we can have them battle off for the #1 spot, think of all the fun that could be had on here
Poor Legler is hanging on by his fingernails. Less than 5 more hours of passive aggressive snipes left!
[QUOTE="bicketybam, post: 4079726, member: 13437"]And read the Fields updates that I am sure you will provide in spades! ^^^unless Fields is a bust, bickety...at which point, I am sure there will be no Fields updates...
