I'd rather a trade up for Tevin Jenkins. He's better imo.

That was the other prediction I was split on. I think both will require a trade up

If the OL are pretty deep then why would you trade up? You got depth of Tackles and Interior OL and no need to trade up and lose picks.

I prefer the best OL available at 23, if they don’t trade down.

    Jets lack a shutdown CB.

a RB shall be drafted within the first 3 rounds

That ain't happening. People with pitchforks would be at JD;s door that night. He is going to pick Wilson and then go with either Jenkins or Humprhey. at 23.

Normally, I'd agree with you, and would never even consider trading up for an OG or RT unless the team was already a contender, and just wanted to get the best prospect for the one remaining hole they had. This scenario is different, however. While the talent level is deep, not all of them could start day one and play at a high level. Some could start day one, but their play might only be marginally better than Lewis or Van Roten. Other will take a year, maybe more, before they're ready to start. With a rookie QB, we need at least one, if not two OL who can step in, start day one, and play at a high level. A shutdown CB does nothing to help a rookie QB succeed.

It will be interesting to see what the Jets do at RB. With starting a rookie QB, and the plan probably being to establish the run and then use play action to take pressure off Wilson/Fields, a strong case can be made for taking a RB in the first 3 rounds. With this system/scheme, however, it doesn't need an elite, workhorse or bellcow RB. It's RB by committee. They look for RBs with HR speed, who are N-S runners, one-cut runners and go. This is a deep draft. Perhaps two of the RBs who best fit the Jets' new scheme at RB are Chuba Hubbard and Javian Hawkins, and they'll probably go in the 4th - 6th round range. The only drawbacks are that Hawkins isn't much of a blocker and hasn't caught a ton of passes nor has Hubbard. I haven't seen any interest from the Jets in Kenneth Gainwell, a prospect who is fast and elusive, a great receiver, and didn't have a ton of carries in college, so his legs will be fresh. He'll probably go in the 3rd or 4th round.

The only two RBs whose names I have seen mentioned in connection with the Jets are Michael Carter of UNC and Khalil Herbert. Carter will probably go in the 3rd, but could go in the 2nd. Herbert I think will probably go in the 3rd or 4th round.

I don't think the Jets will consider taking a RB at #23, but may at #34, although I'd be surprised, as I think it would a luxury-type pick, but Etienne or Harris and maybe even Javonte Williams could be a huge help to Wilson/Fields.

Understand about the OL situation getting a premier Day 1 starter. I think the 23rd pick and 34th pick will be a CB and OL or vice versa if they don’t trade out.

Saleh has recently stated he s looking at CB aka Sherman or Verette type guys that is a fit in his system.

    So we’ll what happens.

I think this is where I am at now.

The OT’s the Jets want, probably won’t be there at pick 23. AVT will be long gone. Jenkins (my favorite at 23) is being mocked to go a few picks before.

With that, the most dynamic offensive player on the board that is a bigger upgrade on offensive vs all other positions (not line) could be Harris.

Besides Pitts and top 2 WR’s... he’s the best offensive talent in this draft + could help Wilson more than anyone else.

The Jets then look to select Creed Humphrey with pick 34, he takes over Center, Mcgovern slides to guard...

Wilson at 2 and best available OL at 23 or move up for one.

Yes, I think moving up might be the only way we can get our starting guard. They will not last at 23. All for it, depending on the price obviously.

A lot of Mocks have the Jets going defense with pick #23. I am hoping OL.

Yes the people creating those mocks are ignorant imo. They don't understand roster building, especially when you're drafting a rookie QB and your OL and offense are shaky and the worst unit on your team. It's truly mind boggling and sad how ignorant they are. IMO they're not thinking about what the Jets needs are or what JD is likely to do, they're just going by the old BPA philosophy, (which is not what JD does) and what they would do.

    They are clueless...

They are the first to mention that Wilson would need support unlike what they did with Darnold and the first thing they do is not give Zach Wilson support with their first pick after ZW.

They probably think if the Jets are stupid enough to rush into another top 5 QB before they are ready for him then they are probably stupid enough to use the 23rd pick on defense.

    2. Wilson
    23. Jenkins
(Wouldn't be surprised if he trades up for Jenkins, which I wouldn't be too mad about, but really hoping he can get a Day 1 starter at OG without giving up picks)
