he’s mediocre but he’s better than darnold ... the panthers should have signed him for cheap instead of trading capital for Sam

There’s nothing wrong with cherry picking data and “experts” to SUPPORT your argument IMO. It’s when we start venturing into well this guy is a professional scout, played in the NFL and all that jazz, it’s gets silly to me on a fan forum.

He has put up better number than Darnold, HOWEVER he also had more talent around him than Darnold has had, and the general view is that Darnold still has untapped potential, while Trubisky is who he is. Not saying that is correct, but around the league t hat seems to be the prevailing thought. Nobody in the league was the least bit interested in signing Trubisky as a potential starter, which is why he had to settle for a pretty crappy contract from Buffalo to be Josh Allen's backup.

    This will be his second.

Could be. I usually operate on the I'll believe it when I see it notion. Perhaps that the natural cynic in me based on how bad the Jets have been and how poorly they've been run for a decade+.

Sam has more upside than Trubisky. There are plays that Sam has made at the collegiate and pro level that Trubisky can’t make even in his favorite wet dream. Sam just needs to somehow learn how to consistently make the more routine and mundane plays.

Why is that silly? Especially when a longtime argument of the Fields crowd has been that TGG specifically is making Wilson out to be a flawless messiah? It seems logical to point to actual professionals who like Wilson when that's been a consistent criticism from the other side.

Remember the survey of scouts/GM's that indicated the vast majority of them prefer Wilson over Fields? Are they all idiots along with the TGG members who prefer Wilson?

Agreed. Trubisky playing on the Jets teams that Sam has played on for the past few years, would have been a complete disaster.

Of course, I've never made any claim to the contrary. But it seems highly relevant that a vast majority of the experts seem to prefer one guy over the other.

It’s relevant to the NFL and where they will be drafted but not here where it’s fans voicing their opinions.

You agreeing with Warner or Simms has more value to me even if I may disagree.

Conversely, I’m an idiot; yet I’m right more often than I should be. It’s a crazy world.

I won some good money on that throw. Fields really is the gift that keeps on giving.

This is where I respectfully disagree with you. First off all, I think Wilson can make all the throws, so he has the requisite arm talent. Second of all, I think the reason most QBs fail in the NFL is the mental aspect. There have been lots of QBs who had cannons for arms that could make all the throws, but their decision making, slow processing, and inability to read Ds, or read what was happening on the field, torpedoed them.
