It's two sides of the same coin. Positive stories about a guy you really don't want and negative stories about a guy you do. It's not one weapon or the other. Both are in play for teams before the draft.

When Al Davis was in his prime this was obvious but that's what made him Al Davis.

its not about what we think of douglas, its about what other teams think about the jets and the johnson brothers ... the jets track record speaks for itself

believe nothing you hear from anonymous team insiders. there is absolutely no incentive for them to be truthful

Believing JD will fall for it has nothing to do with execs doing it. Those 2 things are mutually inclusive.

What did you mean? Confidence in ones own opinion and Brooks endorsement upset you?

No. Leglers definitely trolling too. But he's not only trolling because he's adding to the topic in between. You were only trolling.

He can be taken down a few notches by being wrong about the subject of this thread of course.

I think the problem people have is that he's got a good track record for first round QBs and he's not head over heels in love with the guy that half the forum wants to declare the next Bart Mafavrgers before the draft even happens.

The level of emo butthurt going on in this thread by people that have gone all in on Wilson isn't something I'm used to seeing on this board, except maybe back when those Tebots were posting testimonials. I saw somebody talk about expressing their "love and devotion" for Wilson ffs.

It's the same deal with anyone that questions whether Douglas is the real deal. I mean, he shows he has the chops to negotiate a trade but let the guy do something impressive before you expect people to be impressed.

Passive aggressiveness and trolling doesn’t work w/o someone on the other end getting butthurt. There’s a lot of anal soreness going around.

This is primarily why we need the trash talking forum back.

It's insane man. A lot of this attachment to Wilson feels like it stems from a monster bowl game just two days after the Jets beat the Rams and lost out on Trevor Lawrence.

What I don’t get and will never get is that HE’S NOT EVEN ON THE TEAM yet. A week from now and later, it would make sense.

Re: "He can be taken down a few notches by being wrong about the subject of this thread of course."

of course but ask him and he will tell you he's never been wrong. I asked him about various years and what he thought about guys and got the response "I didn't watch college football that year." how gay is that??
    --

There's a lot of emo butthurt as you eloquently describe it, no doubt, by the Wilson supporters but a couple guys chimed in with not so subtle ways of saying - hey maybe stop being such an asshole and his response is. "I can be no one else but me"

That's as emo as it gets right there

    --
Now I'm all on board with your take on Douglas. I am iffy on quite a few of his moves here and he definitely doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt he's getting.

That's the funny thing, I'm really not. Adults can have a conversation and not be emotional. Especially over such a small thing like Wilson-Fields debate

So spot on. Br4d had a couple of excellent observations about the notion that none of the candidates are meritorious of the second pick, and we could have benefited greatly with a trade down with extras picks. But to read value added information about prospects and alternatives its becoming quite a chore, sifting thru a sea of attacks and counter attacks on opposite view points about the same old topic...Wilson versus Fields. As if nothing else matters anymore. Apparently when people point out some of the annoying and constantly repetitive tong in cheek bullshit out they call it whining, because there is only one answer, only a chosen few know the answer, and the rest are in strong denial one way or the other that their pick, their golden savior, is frocked with red flags and unwilling to accept that fact.
