Simms told me it has a Mahomes and we’re drafting him. So I’m expecting one.

I'm never going to kick someone when they're down. Football is supposed to be fun.

The Jets have been anything but fun. If it no longer is fun probably best to pause.

The Jets will still be here. And I am betting they will give you something to smile about soon.

I have Wilson as QB 1 but Simms is flailing pretty badly this draft season.

He's going to be wrong on Lance and his positioning of Mac Jones over Fields is also silly.

"There's a split among the industry's top draft analysts. Todd McShay (ESPN), Daniel Jeremiah (NFL Network) and Dane Brugler (The Athletic) rate Wilson over Fields. Mel Kiper Jr. (ESPN) and Matt Miller (ESPN) have it the other way. ESPN polled two scouts and an offensive coach from three different teams; it was two votes for Wilson, one for Fields."

All this hatred because some people like a QB more than you (I like both Wilson and Fields fwiw, I’ve just long ago realized they’re taking Wilson and don’t really care either way.) Look inward, my friend. Have a good one.

That’s still extremely high praise for Wilson. Remember the class has a QB deemed generational by most in the know and one who was neck and neck with said generational talent up until the point they stopped playing football. So is Wilson that good or those other QBs grossly overrated?

Wait....you just ripped to shreds all the depressed Jets fans who jumped overboard only to tell us that if JD doesn't get it right, you're the next one to flee the ship. lolololol :)

I’ve been there many times. I hated the franchise and most of the fanbase after the Mahomes draft. Let him live. We, Jets fans, are a sadistic bunch. He’ll be back eventually; we can’t help it.

I would trend toward labelling player 2 years ahead in advance as pure sensationalism and wrong.

Just like your favourite Mahomes was labelled a mid round pick by the media prior until the mainstream media realized that teams were considering him as a 1st round pick. It will always happen.

Wilson’s meteoric rise doesn’t have a bit of sensationalism to it too?

No. If you have followed some NFL scout comments you would know they were truly serious about him after his freshman season but whatever you can believe his hype only started this year if it makes you feel good.

The media started catching up and his draft stock started rising. Not NFL teams.

I'm all for drafting a QB at #2 since we traded away Sam. Ideally, you want the heir apparent to have a year in the NFL "simulator" before taking live regular season snaps.
At least 8-10 weeks with a normal offseason, get some game action in November and December. Not looking like we are going to have anything resembling "normal" again this offseason

I hoped the Jets would sign a viable Veteran placeholder for a year, maybe reunite with FITZ after moving on from Sam. Now we are likely forced into seeing a a rookie behind center from day 1. I have a feeling we are on the cusp of seeing some really ugly football and are yet again, setting up the QB we draft for failure. David Carr syndrome is real and the Jets have done a terrific job of making the same mistake time and time again.

So no matter who the pick is, the odds are pretty good we will be in this same situation 3-4 years down the road. I'd rather roll with James freaking Morgan to start the season...

Are the Jets seriously going into the season with Rookie, Morgan, and White? Get ready for some bad football fellas

It's not like the Jets have a run game to lean on...You know, a rookies best friend

There’s a lot of gray area between “serious about him” and the number 1 or 2 overall pick in the draft. Also I feel fine.

See you back on the bandwagon if/when Wilson becomes the FQB we haven't had since Namath.

K'OB, we used to get along okay, so I am not looking to beef with you openly on the board. We have way to much of that going on right now as it is, ESP on the football board.
