Vinny has led a more exciting life than most of us dream about. I bet he is just thankful teams keep calling him in his old age.
True, but what he said is pretty funny. Vinny returns to the Patriots for a ring, and the Jets end up winning the Super Bowl. That would be funny indeed.
I think it would be ironic, but if the Jets won a SB, I would be concerned with the players on the Jets roster. The Jets cut Vinny, Vinny didn't cut the Jets. Although I like to bash him on occasion for his bad play in his final years as a Jet (and also whenever that VT16.com freak shows up), he made some lifelong memories for me in 98 and I will always be thankful for his surprise play that year.
The two people it would suck for are Curtis Martin and Wayne Chrebet. After all they contributed to this team over the years they both deserve rings.
Martin would receive a ring if the Jets won the Super Bowl this season because he is a member of the organization.
Even though Curtis didn't actually play this year, he did contribute to this team. He helped the young RBs in camp on their moves and was a great veteran presence, and Leon has said he learned a lot from him.
Kevin Mawae is in that group too. You notice which team righted itself after a horrible start and nearly made the playoffs? Herm was the best on the job training for that situation that Mawae could have had. Mawae, btw, was the Jet's best player of the last decade.
Martin would get the ring anyway, but I would definitely feel bad for Wayne. He's contributed and suffered multiple concussions for the Jets, and for him to miss the SB a year after leaving would be tragic. Kind of like Don Mattingly leaving right before the Yanks '96 championship season.
