I wonder if he has a shot at the Hall of Fame. Second most prolific postseason past catcher of all time. Zero accolades though.
No Pro Bowls. You can't make the case he was among the best WR's in any year that he played in the NFL. It's the Hall of Fame not the Hall of Consistently Good.
I don't think so. Hines Ward had better numbers in every category than Edelman and he can't even get on the final ballot.
Well, he did win a couple of SBs and was MVP in one of them, plus being the top WR on a top team for many years, so I think he’s at least in the conversation. Also, don’t underestimate how much traction he gets being the patented scrappy white guy who plays the game the right way. There’s a reason Patriots fans love him. He’s been a good player. Doesn’t detract from that punchable fuckface of his.
I'm sure that it will be a deal in five years about how he's deserving of HoF consideration, but I'm also sure that it's all nonsense. He was a good player on a great team with the best QB ever (probably). He's not a Hall of Famer.
I've seen the conversation about other guys with better rec. yards, TD's, pro bowls etc not even in with a sniff of a chance at Canton so Edelmann can't be - but all those guys are the outside receivers not the slot/run into traffic type of receiver that he is/was. He doesn't have the steller regular season record like a Marino BUT he does have more then a few playoff seasons where he was 'clutch' like Eli. I wouldn't say first ballot by any means but I think he is going to be on a few lists.
absolutely postivitly not. he got to play alot of post season games. he wasnt a hall of fame wr. he was a good player who did alot of things well but lets not kid ourselves. its not the hall of of good players.
No pro bowls, no all pros, mediocre regular season stats (based on hall of fame expectations) and a ped suspension. He might get in for his post season play but he will be in his late 60's or 70's when he does.
