Given the history of the Jets as it pertains to their draft track record, don't you believe it's reasonable to have natural skepticism no matter who the selection is? Not to mention this is an outlet designed to voice opinions. My other question for you two, is why do you want unity of rejoicing each pick so badly? Are you that adverse to hearing opposing viewpoints? If so, a message board might not be the best place for you, if there will always be an outward expression of frustration towards views that do not align with your own.
never said they had to be drafted high but that he needed LBers that fit his system. With that said i'm leaning less towards JOK too many missed tackles and more towards mcgrone in the 3rd-4th. I also like werner in the 4th-5th. leaving the top 3 picks for QB, O-line and CB. depending on how the chips fall. in the 6th I'd look at RB and WR since we have multiple picks. I also want to add wiggins.
So because I feel that there is a lot more venting and bitching that actually presenting viewpoints the site is not for us. Amazing. You are the one over reacting. No one is advocating unity. The bold is 100% on the money. That is the beauty of the forum, different opinions make it special. Skepticism is certainly warranted with us. That wasn't my point. There is a hell of a difference between expressing your views versus the usual little one liner, the immediate and automatic bitching, no matter what the pick is, often without even knowing dick about the player, and repeating over and over the same cliché, same old jets, without any substance to it. Opposing view points are not the issue, is regurgitating the same old argument when it doesn't go your way over and over and over and over with absolutely nothing new to add. That to me is just fodder.
Yeah, all I've ever wanted since I joined TGG is to sing Kumbaya, and reach total unity with everyone. And skepticism is one thing, hysterical venting is another. And even so, I haven't condemned or chastised, or questioned why anyone here would be upset or disagree with the picks. I just made an observation that given the bitching and moaning already happening, draft night will only be worse. But if my posts upset you in any way, feel free to put me on ignore.
I figured to receive these sort of responses. But I've seen posts about advocating for people to want either player and accept either player for the better half of the past month. And you both just echoed that. Your two posts can be interpreted as bitching just as much as anyone who doesn't feel both players will be good players. There's not a ton to discuss. Free agency is over, OTA's are a ways away. What do you two advocate we discuss?
I'm unclear about your point, since I have been a big supporter that both players would be a great asset to the Jets...I just trust JD over my own preference.
I doubt he will be, but if Teven Jenkins is still on the board at #23, the Jets HAVE to take him. The Jets can start him at RG for a year or two, then when they're ready to move on from Fant, slide Jenkins out to RT. Feast your eyes on this short video to see why.
Jalen Mayfield and wyatt davis are 2 people we could look at with 34OA. depends who is there is 23. if collins or horn fall it's hard to pass on them. nobody with 34OA will be as good as those 2 of a pick but mayfield is very comparible to jenkins and can be had 34OA
Typical Vilma response. Twist words, ignore others that fit your argument. Where did I say no one should discuss things here? Crickets... I just said that there's a difference between discussion and hysterical venting which some have engaged in on all sides of all the issues. And what I didn't say, but will now, is I could do with a lot less snarky and snide responses, but I understand that comes with the territory. And I haven't bitched, let alone complained, about anyone not thinking both Wilson and Fields are good prospects. I HAVE pointed out numerous times that unlike you and the other Wilson Bashers, I'm not going to have a hissy fit if my preferred QB isn't picked. I'm not so cocksure of myself that I know who the best QB is - although I have my opinion - and won't be surprised if I'm wrong about that. And of course we're not going to know about that for a year or two probably. Work on your reading comprehension.
Where did I say that YOU said we shouldn't discuss things here? Talk about reading comprehension. I asked you what should be discussed if you want fans to get past their skepticism of the pick, especially at this moment. But there's a lot of crying coming from you and co that there's a disagreement among fans. The only person who has shown an outward expression of extreme frustration is Kurt. So don't toss everyone into the same basket just for stating they don't think it's the right pick. Your childish behavior about all of this is evident by your creation of the Wilson "Bashers" narrative.
I just read an article on the Jet Press from two days ago claiming the Jets are really high on Humphery…...
Here: Where the clear implication is that LAJet and I are seeking to limit what's discussed, which neither of us has done. Speaking for myself, discuss whatever you want to, however you want to, bitch to high heaven even, I never said anyone should be limited or censored in any way. My original remark which you took exception to was simply predicting that the bitching and moaning would only increase as each round unfolded. I don't know why that caused you to respond the way you did, except that it seems to be your nature to try and pick arguments with me. And when you can't seem to win the argument you resort to name calling and insults: And no, Kurt isn't the only one who has shown "an outward expression of extreme frustration". Your pointed jabs and insults about Wilson and anyone who thinks he's the best pick clearly show your own frustration, even if you won't admit it. You've gone far beyond simply "stating you don't think it's the right pick". And you know what? That's okay too. I'm not a Mod, and I don't have control over what you say, nor do I want to. But it does get old having to have these arguments with you because you just want to pick a fight.

I'm sorry you have such soft skin. Jab me back without taking it personal. It's cool, it doesn't have to be serious and filled with emotional whining like you've now turned this into. I go at it with a couple of guys on here, dish it and take it, and it's fine there's no hard feelings or further discussions about how it was mean. It's the fucking internet. Once again, I never said you said not to discuss anything. I implied if not the infighting about the quarterback at #2, what are some suggested topics? I'm done with this dude. Toughen up or slap the ignore button on. It's cool with me either way.
23 is going to be someone who falls in our lap. It’s going to be a group of players and JD will have to access if one of those guys could be there at 34 as well. I think is such an afterthought when discussing the 23rd pick but I feel that will definitely be in the conversation leading up to the pick. Its going to come down to these 10 guys! And maybe just maybe one of them will be there at 34 too! Here’s my ranking: 1. Jaycee Horn CB 2. Najee Harris RB 3. Gregory Rousseau DE 4. Caleb Farley CB 5. Kwity Paye DE 6. Creed Humphrey C 7. Alijah Vera-Tucker G 8. Travis Etienne RB 9. Greg Newsome CB 10. Tevin Jenkins OT It will depend if a guy like Horn or Rousseau or Najee fall. If not then you have a decision to make. I could see JD taking any one of those 10 guys. There are so many really good OL prospects this year so I truly feel he’s going to draft a playmaker at 23 and gamble that one of Humphrey/Jenkins/Vera-Tucker/Mayfield/Dickerson will be there at 34 and start day 1. That’s personally how I think it plays out. FQB #2 Playmaker #23 OL #34
What's the deal with this USC guard? I haven't seen much of him but I see him pretty highly regarded. I never watched Jenkins live but he seems like a nasty run blocker which I like.
I’m not high on him to be honest AVT has huge bust potential in my opinion but I think because his draft grade is in our range at 23 he’s on the list. Jenkins reminds me of Penai Sewell to be honest.. same nasty ness and frame. I could see JD loving him to be honest. He would be a bulldozer beside Becton or swing him to RT and kick Fant inside. He played both LT and RT too
Man will it ever. Feels like the turning of the tide. I’d be happy with anyone on the list but AVT scares me the most.
