I think that was Jefferson's quote not Franklin's, and Jefferson never saw Kyle Pitts play Tight End :D:D

I just wish fans would just look beyond the 2nd pick and not argue about the QB. If JD does it right, the Jets with the 10 high end draft picks in the next two years are position to be in a very good situation building the foundation and stabilized the OL now and the future, put up a consistent running game, develop depth at WRs, and re-group and add speed, pressure and depth defensively.
Once you do that then whoever we have at QB will almost be a mute point. Hopefully Wilson is the real deal and succeeds and then we re in a driver seat. But if he doesn’t , so be it. I rather build be in that position to what the Jets did with Darnold and building the team. The last three years. When Darnold wasn’t working out, neither were other areas. Then the Jets kept developing too many holes.

The 2nd pick is a potential franchise changing decision. It’s worthy of arguing.

Why is everyone so upset about debating this stuff? This is quite literally what this outlet is for.

Yup. If jets were locked in to #1, I wonder how much love ZW would be getting on here as the 2nd coming of Mahomes, a sure fire FQB. We'd probably be laughing at whoever was drafting #2 and their efforts to paint Zack as a better prospect than Trevor Lawrence.

What do they think is going on at Florham Park? If they are all holding hands and singing “Kumbaya, My Lord” at the Holy Trinity shrine of Simms, Wilson and that guy on YouTube, then we’re fucked. Hopefully, there is healthy vigorous debates going on.

I am doing my due diligence. I went and saw all the video available of Zach Wilson from 2019 (Washington, Tennessee, USC) to see him under real pressure and I am now even more convinced that Zach is the real deal. His ability to espape pressure when the pocket is collapsing is amazing. Also if all his receivers are covered and he is pressured from all angles he will not force throws. He has true pro QB traits.

I also for the giggle I also watched high school videos of him and Darnold (for comparison),and they are day and night. Darnold in high school was pass or run and you could see he had no confidence in making tough throws. Zach Wilson high school tape is amazing, you already see his gunsliger attitude and his ability to make quick decisions. I am shocked he was only rated a 3 star talent. He is also a great athlete.

Anyway it was refreshing to see that his elite traits were always there and has improved on it. He is a natural.

The debates are over. JD already said there was a consensus on top 2, one of which will be gone by the time Jets pick. They must have all listened to the youtube guy and were convinced. Simms was icing on the cake.

I think compared to Sam or Sanchez, Zach Wilson is coming into a great situation from an expectation point of view. Jets fans are more jaded than ever. They are used to failure and flat out looking pathetic recently. If Zach Wilson can show any signs of elite ability or great playmaking, he will win over fans instantly. There is a lot of pressure being the #2 overall pick, coming to NYC, replacing Sam, etc, but I think fans will be more hesitant to put all of their faith in him like the past QB's. At least that is how I feel.

Add Mahomes, Rodgers and Favre comparisons to the expectations/pressure factors list.

Sam looked like the real deal as rookie. He just never got better.

No pun intended, but you can see how that seeing ghosts game really haunted him. He was fine as a rookie and looked like he had a lot of upside because he looked calm despite exhibiting a lot of the same deficiencies he's shown the past couple years. But he hasn't looked calm since then.
