Chad was better than Teddy imo. Teddy has never put together a season as good as 02, 04 or 08. Obviously I was exaggerating but I wouldn’t want Teddy as my starter under any circumstances. He had 18 TD and 15 INT last year with a creative offensive scheme, average OL and one of the best WR trios in the NFL. Mike Davis more than enough at RB as well. He’s not that good (in NFL terms.) When we say Ryan Leaf isn’t good at football we mean in the context of other NFL players. Obviously despite being one of the biggest busts in NFL history he’s still “good at football”
Agreed. Teddy Checkdown. He's alright. He's like Alex Smith lite. He can probably check the ball down and manage an offense on a good team to propel them to the playoffs. Last year was a good example of what happens when he airs it out - the turnovers start flowing in. Teddy was the don't lose the ball game guy in Minnesota.
Sanchez? You mean the guy with twice as many playoff wins as any other Jets qb? Yeah. He sucked... edit: I didn't mean to dredge this thread up... I was searching for something else... left the tab open for hours... then started reading it like it was current... and rushed to defend my boy Sanchez. The Best Jets QB Ever! Sorry... carry on.
We all know Sanchez wasn't the main reason for Jets success these two years. So, why bring it up? He was not Sanchise, this is not even up to debate. Butfumble - maybe.
What if I told you Sanchez had a better postseason passer rating than Russell Wilson, Tom Brady and Peyton Manning?
That's just a stat, but we all know that it's meaningless as Wilson, Brady and Manning were the reason their teams won playoff games. Sanchez played well, but he didn't carry the Jets, the Jets carried him. He wasn't a leader and couldn't make those around him better as that trio did.
If one switched Sanchez with the other teams opposing QB in the playoff games is there anyone that the Jets do not win by an additional 30 points? If Sanchez had to face our defense there is virtually no way he gets net positive points. Most likely our defense shuts him put plus gets 2 to 3 defensive TDs. This guy had the best defense, best OL, best running game, ran the ball 58 percent of the time, had defenses stacking the box with 9 men daring him to throw the ball. No QB has ever in the history of the NFL had it easier. According to Mike Westoff if you put Sanchez next to a lake and asked him to throw it in the lake there is no chance the ball was getting wet. Put any bad QB on those Jet teams and it is a an easy superbowl.
You can all slam Sanchez all you want... but he won... yes won... more playoff games than any NY Jets quarterback. Twice as many in fact. Do not deny his magnificence...
Sanchez was awful as a stand alone quarterback. But I'll never understand why Jets fans bash him into the ground or don't like him. Those years were fucking awesome.
