No crying here! I'm good with either if the two, but I'd bet a fair amount of money that the pick won't be the Wilson/Prescott live child.

not currently but at one point there will be when he's in the pro's and they break it down frame by frame. it's pretty obvious though his release is below average for an NFL QB. You can think it's "good enough" but no way you can think it's fast. but if that's what you see on film your allowed your opinion. If someone wanted to they can go frame by frame with editing software to get numbers. I just personally don't really care to. People did it for his 40 time and others in the draft to find out the times this year are much lower then reality and you should add .1 to .15 to everyone's 40 times. I never said anything bad about his mechanics. I said they are great. he has a pro typical throwing motion. it's just slow and it's how he generates his power and accuracy. he's not nearly ass strong or accurate if he doesn't plant and wind up. i'm arguing that mechanics can be taught raw talent can't. look at rivers his motion is ugly as balls. but it's fast and works and his coach felt not to tinker with it when he was young. he made a pretty good career out of it. Your comment about "video study" is a joke too. don't attack the poster debate the info. i'm not going to defend myself but the comment is so bad if he's fitting balls into tight windows don't you think they would go on highlight reels over throws to open WRs? lol

no it's not required but it's very common today. not many nonathletic QBs left starting in the NFL. Field would be number 3 behind jackson and murray but he doesn't have the ability to change the game like them. at best he's more of a josh allen, deshaun watson, mahomes. except he doesn't have the capabilities they have. it's just straight line speed. we see lots of players who's 40 times don't match their on field play speed. don't put too much stock in 40 times.

it means nothing. the NFL is high talent. yet brady always seem to find the open guy and made a career out of it despite not having much at WR most of his career. people get wide open especially in college regardless of the talent level. I think college fans tend to make worse scouting decisions because of thought processes like this. good college player =/= good NFL player

Fields had so many sacks he could have avoided. way more then jones/wilson/tlaw combined. he holds the ball too much but doesn't play hero ball either. it's a bad combo. he has a ton of "drive killing" plays if he was in the NFL. there is a reason he's been dropping

    you can have your opinion

you can have your opinion. I'm not going to debate it. my point wasn't to debate someone's thoughts. my point was for someone to actually say something positive and negative about him because everyone has avoided it and just trash's wilson or quotes stats, or says just trust me and refuses to explain.

yes we are gonna draft wilson and yes I hope i'm right not because of a forum but becuase I want the jets to have a FQB for once in my lifetime and a good team. FWIW i've never been a fan of late risers in the draft. guys like wilson and mayfield who shot up the board out of nowhere. but wilson looks really good on film. I like fields. I think he's a good kid. I'll pull for him as long as he's not a patriot. I just don't see the talent level a few people claim he has. Your more then welcome to think we will regret wilson over fields. it's valid. the draft is a huge crapshoot. everyone knows that.

I'm going to jump back in here to make two comments:

    1. When Douglas is quoted as saying that they had narrowed things down to two QBs they would consider, everyone is assuming he meant Wilson and Fields, but why not Lawrence and either Wilson or Fields?

    2. If somehow the Jags pass on Lawrence - I know, almost an impossibility - is he the best choice for the Jets? Does he have no flaws? Is he as perfect as some claim? It would take a big pair of balls for Douglas to take someone else because he's been "anointed" as the Second Coming of Petron Manning and Andrew Luck, but what would the QB gurus here do? Most want Fields - would they still take him, or would they take Lawrence? And for the Wilson supporters, what about you? For myself, I've said it before, I still want Wilson over Lawrence.

Let me bury Lance Zierlein and this post...

You know the same Lance who gave his 2017 evaluations on the draft
    https://www.nfl.com/news/lance-zierlein-big-board-top-32-players-for-2017-nfl-draft-0ap3000000791512

    Trubisky...as his top QB

    7. Mitchell Trubisky, QB, North Carolina

A high-end quarterback prospect who possesses NFL size, a big arm, and the ability to throw with accuracy from the pocket or on the move. Despite playing in a spread-based offense, he's a full-field reader who does a very good job of getting an early read on the safeties before crafting his course of action. He will have to become much more pocket aware and do a better job of recognizing and attacking blitzes to back NFL defensive coordinators off. He hasn't put all the pieces together yet, but the puzzle is all right in front of him. Trubisky projects as a good starting quarterback with a high floor and the potential to be great.

    18. Deshaun Watson, QB, Clemson

Teams will have to weigh the inconsistent field vision and decision-making against his size, athleticism, leadership and production. While not perfect, teams can add checks to both arm and accuracy boxes for Watson. However, discussions about whether or not his areas of improvement can be corrected will likely determine whether a team will view him as a high-upside prospect or a franchise quarterback. Watson's transition from Clemson's offense to a pro-style attack will obviously take time, but his combination of intangibles and athletic ability make him worth a first-round selection.

    Patrick Mahomes...

Not even a first round grade at the time.

If Jax passes on Lawrence for Wilson I think I just go Trey Lance.

    1. TBF if we were picking 3rd, he’d probably say he had 3 QBs he likes, 4th 4 and so on.

    2. I’m taking Trevor over Wilson.

The only move I would detest if Atlanta trades the pick to New England.
As to your second option, I have to believe Urban M knows a thing or two about QBs, he came out of retirement for a reason, so if he passes on TL and takes Wilson instead of Fields that would make me wonder plenty about both TL and Fields.

  11. Yes of course..any expert who says anything discouraging about Wilson is an idiot doing the devil’s work.

I cant stand this crap anymore.

    Im out.

    you guys DESERVE Zach Wilson

When his QB rankings come out with Wilson at 1 or 2, do we like him again?

You would take Trey Lance if Lawrence was still available?

My comments weren't about your or anyone having to like both. That was not my intent. It was in regard to the all the snide comments about Wilson that I have been seeing from some Fields posters.

I don't think anyone is attacking me personally. That isn't the reason I have reacted negatively to some posts. I just don't like snarky, smarmy, posts, and people that try to twist my words.

I'm sorry, I know it's not his (Fields') fault, and I don't really wish ill on him, part of me just wishes it would happen because it would certainly shut up a few posters on this board (I'm not talking about you).

His mechanics are not better than Wilson's. Throwing motion is part of mechanics. He can't have a slow throwing motion and Wilson a quick one, and then have better mechanics.

yes you can. darnold and rivers have quick releases but poor mechanics. Wilson throws oddly at times. not consistent. fields is consistent with correct mechanics. but wilson zips the ball out and fields has a long motion

It was kinda weird that he didn't have one for Lawrence. Like WTF Trevor Lawrence doesn't remind you of anyone??

(I would say Eli or Peyton Manning FYI. Hopefully he's more like Eli. Although something about that tall lanky #16 in orange...)
