JD got a 6 Year Contract for a reason ...clean up the mistakes, the Adam Gase blunder and trash left by his predecessor GMs

Now I am excited the real Joe Douglas era starts Spring of 2021>>>his own HC and shiny new QB be it Wilson or Fields:D

Agree completely. Further, I would love for Sam to resurrect his career with Carolina, have a successful tenure, and cement once and for all the travesty that the Mac and Gase era placed upon him and the entire Jet team.

Out of 32 GM's, only a handful could give this statement after trading away Darnold. Joe D is a class act. I root for him for two reasons. I am a Jets fan and I want glory. But I also root for good people like Joe D.

Godspeed Joe. I hope we win a Superbowl during your watch.

I whole heartily believe JD is the best thing that happened to this organization, and if we truly give him and the CS a chance, he will make this team a winner. He will falter along the way, they all do, but the best stay focused on the end product, and that is exactly his MO. God speed with this draft.

I completely agree with you. I have never felt this comfortable with a GM. And I am even more confident with the coaching staff he now has brought in.

I know we are Jets fans and destined for failure, but I feel like things are finally changing. And I hope Wilson is our hero along the way

Been rocking my Namath jersey lol. Only buy retired players or those that have history that is good.

I got Sanchez and Revis and was forever screwed. Although Revis came back around. Sanchez sucks

I feel good about coach and his staff. Same for JD. We just need to see it molded together. I don't think it'll be easy but it can't be worse than 2-14 or whatever we had this past decade

Yes indeed, and it wasn't just the record but we looked so damned disjointed

It was the Douglas era that effectively ended Darnold here, as Douglas just admitted himself.
2020 was the worst excuse for coaching/roster combo I've ever seen here.
So when Darnold goes on to do well elsewhere, it's more a reflection on Gase/Douglas then anything else.

    Definitely a class act.

But you guys are applauding him for effectively ruining Darnold with that dogshit coaching and roster endorsed by Douglas, which in turn left us getting pennies on the dollar for Darnold as an asset.
It was 101 on how NOT to bring along a QB, something Douglas needs to own and learn from this next go around.

If we could've developed Darnold this past year and retained him, rather than trading him now for peanuts, the team would have had so many more options this draft.

Part of me still wishes we could have seen Sam with a real chance at success, but I’m not upset at the decision because I trust JD that much. I finally feel like we have the right people running the show.

i think that darnold will be a better qb than wilson so its not a great trade based upon that. i think the return was very good.

how long has douglas been here? this is his 2nd draft and third season coming up iirc. he has thus far proved he can get rid of every single player with any value. and bring back draft picks. which he did ok with last year. we will see, his contract is 6 years so he is going to be here for another 3 or 4 and will live or die with this qb pick. which i think hes making a mistake on. but only time will tell.

You can't pin Gase on Douglas and to be fair he inherited a lousy roster. You can kill him for Anderson but I'm not buying the notion that having Anderson would have made him a competent QB the past year.

He didn't trade Q, did he? He has the most value of anyone on the team. Adams had to be traded. He's had one draft so far and it's still too early to give it a final grade. Are you not happy with Becton or Mims? Bryce Hall in the 5th seema like a solid pick as well.

Douglas did not hire Gase and pennies on the dollar for Darnold? Darnold is one of the worst QBs in the league and has been his entire NFL career. That's not on Douglas
