No to Clowney. IMO Jets fans need to forget about him. JD is never going to sign him. Nelson or Poole would definitely be good signings.
I don't think we could fit Smith under the cap at this point. Would like to see Poole re-signed and Sherman added, and Alexander, but evidently, neither Saleh, Ulbrich, nor JD have any interest in any of them at this point.
we could just draft wiggins in the 4th or 5th as the 4th safety. that's my dream. dude is a perfect fit here
he just saved 5 mil with the danold trade. we have enough to sign rookies and another 15 mil or so. plus a ton of room next year. signing a 2 year deal and backloading it to next year he wouldn't cost much against this year at all. 2 years 18 mil. 6 mil bonus. 3 mil salary in 2021, 9 mil salary in 2022. counts 6 mil this year on the cap and 12 mil next year. don't guarentee the 2022 salay so he could be released for a 9 mil savings if he doesn't play well or stay healthy
we have to see how joyner does 1st. there is a reason he signed a 1 year prove it deal cheap. davis could be groomed to take over for maye or to take joyners spot in 2022. saleh will use an extra safety in place of a CB at times. davis will see the field this year in a big role if he cnan handle it. if not we need to consider he may just not be good
Why? Because he's older? If so, I get that, but reports are that he still played at a very high level last year. He loves Saleh, so I don't think he'd come here and coast like Trumaine Johnson did.
Not sure how JFK fits on the outside. Definitely athletic but not sure he's a good fit on the edge. He's a great pass rusher on the interior and I'd rather him rotate with Rankins and Q than be ineffective outside. I doubt any of the 3 would play much more than 50-60% of snaps. I did forget about Curry though. Great situational pass rusher
he's a bit bigger then you want in a 4-3 DE but he should be fine. So was shuan ellis and he was great at DE
We'll see but I think the Jets will sign free agents after the draft. I think they want to see the positions they draft then sign remaining free agents based on need after the draft. Maybe a cb and a lb would be signed before the draft but think they'll wait til after.
I think JFM can play 4-3 strongside defensive end. His first step is quick enough and he uses his hands well. The third down pass rush package should be pretttttty good.
that's all he ever does though. Williams has played in 26 career NFL games and eclipsed the 70% snaps mark only 4 times
I think it's a function of Gregg Williams over-rotating his players and Williams being banged up and poorly conditioned his rookie year. But we'll see. Williams definitely needs to be on the field more to be a great player.
agreed. Does he want to be great? Because I think we all think he could be. But if he comes sucking air asking for a sub, maybe he doesn't want to be great. We will find out
not really. you want to have a deep o-line and rotate them to keep them fresh. you don't want a lineman playing all the snaps. i expect Q to be around 60-70% of snaps. it's better to do that and have them be effective every snap then to have them be non effective on 30% of snaps.
