Nothing about Wilson is remotely close to Watson or Mahomes regarding skill set or what they accomplished. Mahomes didn't end up with any accolades or in big time playoff games like Watson, but he also threw for a million touchdowns and yards. Fields was the receiver running the wrong route away from playing for two National Championships in consecutive years. I don't really get the comparison but then again I don't think he's going to be very good so there's that.
I listened to the presser, and JD didn't give anything away. However, the writing is on the wall from reliable sources like Young who talked to coaches, Schefter welcoming him, etc... It's hard to keep something like that from leaking. There is about 5% chance this can change, but obviously the writing is on the wall. -2000 now betting odds for Zach. He will be the pick, baring a miracle at this point: https://www.playsugarhouse.com/?page=sports#event/1006299716
My point was that I was hoping for a different outcome in 2017 draft than drafting Adams, so I said there is nothing wrong with hoping for Fields, even though the writing is on the wall for Zach. As far as comparison to Mahomes, a lot of respectable people disagree that it's not remotely close. Even your favorite:
Nope, Jacksonville is doing nothing of the sort. Dozens, maybe hundreds of media people may be and thousands of football forum mooks, but I have seen nothing from the Jaguars organization that is laying their cards on the table even though they are the only team that can do that with impunity because there's is the only decision that cannot be altered by the moves of any team before them. Everything you've written here about the Eagles, the Niners or any other team, as well as either Wilson, Jones, Fields or what any team or player "knew" about what the other teams were doing is based purely on conjecture and speculation.
A month later. Was talking much differently. After watching all of them more. It doesn't matter. Believe what you will. Praise him. Lean on him as your be all, end all reference. It's fine. I'm good with It. I feel good about what I think. I don't think Chris Simms Is right. We shall find out.
So you don't think if they were considering any other QB than Lawrence that they might want to go see them throw at their pro day? Come on fellas.
A) I’m not battling a fight B) You wouldn’t be the one to tell me if I’m battling the wrong one if I was
My guess is they have seen them all throw in more telling circumstances than the orchestrated artificial environment that produces Twitter storms.
Jax are not showing any cards yet as there is still a month left. Plus the NFL office would hate it. Same with the Jax owner. They want all the build up and all the suspense to be talking about the #1 pick and the Jacksonville Jaguars and the coverage this brings. Not trying to ruin Draft Night as it's $$$$ night. However the 5% in me that is unsure would love the anarchy it would bring to the entire draft process if the didn't pick Lawrence. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
Can you show me where he said where he watched more film and now thinks Lamar is not great? I clearly showed you a video where he had high praises for Lamar and Allen, and had them two two after studying tape. Also, I am not leaning on him as be all end all, it's just that he one of the folks along likes of Jenkins and JT O'Sullivan who I think know a thing or two about analyzing prospects, so I give some weight to their analysis. Two of them gave good reasons for rating Zach at #1, and one of them also rates him high, but thinks probably Fields is ahead. However, my conclusion is not based on their recommendations, I did my own tape study, looked at the advanced stats, etc... I think it is Trevor, Wilson, and Fields. The reason I keep bringing him up is for fun, since people feel the need to discredit the guy, whose record is darn good. Doesn't mean he is right on this one of course, but still not sure why put him down after being right so many times.
