How sad is it that posters don't know that the Johnsons have nothing to do with Johnson & Johnson. It's only been talked about on this site and in articles numerous times since they bought the team. Jets fans drive me crazy.
Correct on face value. However by 2008 Chad was on his last legs - his shoulder was hanging by a thread and his time in NY was up. He did give the Dolphins a spark but the truth is the ‘wildcat’ was catching teams with their pants down and the Dolphins took advantage of an easy schedule. Once they met the defensive heavy Ravens in the first round ( a team Chad could never figure out ) it was lights out. The following season Chad was knocked out for the year in the third week and that finished him off. And it was too bad because I liked Pennington. Had he been healthy and the QB of the Jets 2009-10 teams it may have ended very differently..... EDIT: If I remember correctly the Jets were already eliminated before the last game against the Dolphins was over based on the result of another game. Had they beat the Dolphins I think the Patriots would have jumped them for the AFC East....
There's no doubt in my mind that we would've won the division in 2009 and possibly a first round bye with better QB play . Sanchez cost us so many games with his turnovers.
Exactly. Chad was exactly the QB those 09-10 needed - just guide the ship and don’t do anything stupid. A very smart, capable QB and also more importantly a leader in the huddle.
I'm proud of our owners for developing and delivering our life saving covid vaccine. I think Woody personally worked the vaxx table and gave every Jets player the jab. Good man.
I don't like talking about Gase since he is gone, but it is so embarrassing he continued to feed 37 year old Frank Gore when he had talented RB's like Ty Johnson and Josh Adams on the roster. Not to mention a promising rookie RB in LaMical Perine. Just inexcusable. Unfathomable. What a joke of a coach.
Fuck Gase and his running old man river to death, when these two lads had to sit on their arse's for 80% of the season, even after both delivered in the same game they still didn't get much more use. He really was a stubborn wanker.
during the last 15 or so years posting on these or other similar boards - every time someone posts something about a bright future - its always the oncoming train.
I think this time it will be different. There are true reasons for optimism and excitement. I think Jets fans will be watching a young and fun team for the foreseeable future.
let's see...the proverbial law of averages should hit. we have to hit on one of these QB's. we are the only team in the division, hell maybe the entire AFC, not to hit on a drafted QB in decades.
For me, these posts are always a gradually dimming of a light you know will be lit again .. only to burn out again. I hope this time is different: minus the incompetence of Gase and self obsession of Adams. I'd put up with near mediocrity this time.
Well.......no excuse not to find 3 day one starters with those top 3 picks. And I can’t see one of 23 or 34 not being an OL. Yes there’s pressure all right .....
