I know it's very unlikely, but JD DID just say he'd pick up the phone if someone wanted to trade up to 2. No one knows what obscene offers may roll in. He could get offered 3 1sts to drop down a few spots and still get Mac Jones or Justin Fields. Or maybe even Zack Wilson. Like I said, unlikely but within that 1%, there's still a lot in play, especially with a natural born wheeler and dealer like JD.
it's literally been confirmed by JD https://kslsports.com/456948/jets-gm-joe-douglas-discusses-zach-wilson-comments-by-steve-young/ what do you have to gain by not believing we are drafting wilson? is it because you really dislike him and think it's a mistake? If so get used to hating your future QB
That wasn't what I asked you - I asked you about the 20 year olds we need to listen to. I'm also not asking you to try to convince me one way or the other. It appears that way, but I wouldn't say "it's literally been confirmed."
Vegas odds are now at 95% or so for Zach at #2. While it will not be confirmed until official selection, the only thing slightly more certain is Lawrence going to Jags at 99%. Basically baring a miracle it is a done deal.
tat's as confirmed as it gets. wilson is 21. his friends are likely in the same age range and at BYU and on his team. not to mention the ones at the pro day. steve young has a good beat on BYU and connections there. plus coaching staffs, family members, etc. why do you think high draft picks already have their families in gear for the teams that draft them? i'm sure JD told him he's going to be a jet and somehow that got back to steve young who reported it and JD basically confirmed it. not to mention the series of events from the pro day to the darnold trade right after the pro day and the niners trading to 3 becuase the eagles wanted wilson and were going to trade for him at 3 but then traded back instead when they knew he wouldn't be there and JD has friends in the philly org
who knows who said what or what was overheard. young is still heavily involved and in the know at BYU. you think he'd just make it up? and JDs face when he was asked was pretty telling. but please by all means ignore it all and hope you get what you want. it'll only hurt more when you don't
to be fair the work ethic thing was quickly debunked and apologized for and nobody on these forums believed it.
it's an expression in regards to the tweet. it was a BS report that was quickly debunked. everyone knows there are no character/work ethic concerns with fields
I thought this alleged test score was news and relevant to this thread that bears Fields’ name in the title irregardless of that prior rumor.
it's relevant for sure. just not the work ethic part but I know you can't separate a tweet. also remember RG3 impressed in film rooms and interviews with his knowledge of the game. as did rosen. where are they now? fields looks like he'll wind up an average QB. I don't think he'll bust but I don't see him as a pro bowler either. If we draft him i'll be happy. i'll root for him. seems like a good kid either way but so was sam. We just need a new QB and were getting one either way. lets be happy at that also FWIW seems like JD won't sign a vet. he said he's happy with morgan and white
too many flaws to work on to be great. he could overcome them but i just don't see it. his athletic ability will help him early on but won't be sustainable. in the right system with a lot of players around him he could be good
