that's all very well said actually.

The truth is, JD has a lot of work ahead of him. we can all agree on that for sure. In the offseason so far he's clearly focused on adding players to help us get pressure with our front 4. I don't think CB is a huge need as we will mostly play zone and I like guidry, bless, and hall. there is a reason we haven't resigned poole despite him playing really well in GWs scheme the past 2 years. I'm more surprised nobody has picked him up yet. I think we can get by with a late round CB for now.

I've been going over this over and over in my head and TBH there isn't a "clear path" to be had here. lots of possibilities. really hard for JD to mess it up outside of drafting busts only. I'm thinking right now the best for our 1st 3 picks are
    1) Zach wilson QB
    2) jeremiah owusu-koramoah LBer
    3) Wyatt Davis OG

That gives us 3 starters that fit our system. improves the o-line and gives us our leader on defense. If JOK isn't there at #23 we could take a lineman depending how it falls and take a guy like collins in the 2nd or cox in the 3rd for the Lber need. I still think we double dip but maybe the 2nd Lber is the 6th rounder or we trade down for an extra 6th or 7th rounder at some point. I do think our 1st 3 picks should be QB at 2 obviously. then Lber and O-line with the next 2 picks. Also having 2 1st rounders next year is huge. between that and the 2nd rounder we should be able to land 3 new starters. The only clear thing for me is we won't be looking at WR or D-line since that's what JD spent all the money on in the offseason. I wouldn't be surprised if he takes a kicker with a late pick either.

As far as TE goes herndon could bounce back in a big way. his rookie year was amazing. then he got hurt. then his 3rd year with gase system he sucked. he did get a little rythem at the end. TEs in the NFL now are pretty weak. Tier 1 is just kelce, waller and kittle. then a bunch of T2 guys like engram, ertz (at his age was T1 before), jonnu smith, henry, etc. I think herndon is a T2 guy for sure. If we do take a TE we need to cut griffin and i'd prefer hunter long in the 4th.

edit: BTW 2OA is 2nd Overall

    Here is my latest one

Round 1 Pick 2: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (A+)
Round 1 Pick 25 (JAX): Zaven Collins, ILB/OLB, Tulsa (B+)
Round 2 Pick 1 (JAX): Wyatt Davis, OG, Ohio State (A-)
Round 3 Pick 1 (JAX): Kelvin Joseph, CB, Kentucky (A)
    Round 3 Pick 2: Rashad Weaver, DE/OLB, Pittsburgh (A)
Round 3 Pick 22: Hunter Long, TE, Boston College (A+)
    Round 4 Pick 2: James Wiggins, FS/SS, Cincinnati (A+)
Round 5 Pick 2: Pete Werner, ILB/OLB, Ohio State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 10: Seth Williams, WR, Auburn (A+)
Round 6 Pick 3: Kayode Awosika, OT, Buffalo (A+)

we get a starting QB, versatile LBers, and Perfect OG for our system with the top 3 picks. I also traded down in the 1st 2 spots which netted an extra 3rd (and moved up 1 position in the 2nd which for mock purposes isn't anything)
Then with the 3 3rds I got a new starting CB, a TE2 to pair with herndon, and a rotational DE since i'm not sold on zuniga and it's an extra pick. without the trade down I wouldn't take weaver.
then on day 3 I filled out the roster more. I added a safety I love in this draft to go with maye, joyner, davis. maye and joyner are on final years so drafting a possible replacement is key. Werner is a depth OLB who can play SAM or WILL and fits in good for us. Then I added a WR since cole is on a 1 year deal and crowders future is iffy. it's a late pick and williams who reminds me of a low budget mims. he'sa big guy who will win jump balls and make contested catches over the middle. finally last but not least an OT in college who projects to play OG in the NFL so can be groomed and battle out with clark for the other guard spot in 2022.

I think this one is pretty dam good overall

Round 1 Pick 2: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (A+)
    Round 1 Pick 23: Zaven Collins, ILB/OLB, Tulsa (A-)
Round 2 Pick 2: Jalen Mayfield, OT, Michigan (A-)
Round 3 Pick 7 (DEN): Kelvin Joseph, CB, Kentucky (A)
Round 3 Pick 22: Hunter Long, TE, Boston College (A+)
    Round 4 Pick 2: Cameron McGrone, ILB/OLB, Michigan (A+)
Round 4 Pick 9 (DEN): D'Wayne Eskridge, WR, Western Michigan (A+)
Round 5 Pick 2: Pete Werner, ILB/OLB, Ohio State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 8 (DEN): Tariq Thompson, FS/SS, San Diego State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 10: Rachad Wildgoose, CB, Wisconsin (A)
    Round 6 Pick 3: Drew Dalman, C/OG, Stanford (A+)
Round 6 Pick 43 (COMP): Warren Jackson, WR, Colorado State (A+)

One of my top ones I think. I'm sad I missed out on james wiggins though and I would have taken Javian hawkins (RB) but he isn't in the game for some reason in the 6th over dalman but still this is what we get. I did trade down in the 3rd for an extra 4th and 5th

1-2) our new FQB it's a forgone conclusion
1-23) JOK was gone so i took Collins to start rebuilding out LBer core. probably plays SAM for us and can even drop down to DE in nickel and dime to rush the passer
2-2) Could start at LG right away for us, upgrading the o-line. could eventually replace fant at RT as well
3-7) needed a CB eventually took the top one left at this point
3-22) got a TE to pair with herndon. I like long a lot. think he's underrated and the 2nd best TE in the draft behind pitts.
4-2) got our new MIKE to go with the SAM drafted earlier. 3 down LBer to lead the defense
4-9) new speedy slot WR and returner/gunner on special teams
5-2) finished remaking the LBer group with our new WILL. probbaly porjects better as a sam but a play maker and we'll make it work. it's the 5th round even as a backup SAM/MIKE it's a great pick
5-8) I missed out on wiggins and we need a safety so took the top one I could find
5-10) added another CB to go with Joseph. I love wildgoose as a late rounder
6-3) developmental Center for us. needs time but could replace mcgovern in a few years and be a decent back-up in the meantime. if the game had Javian Hawkins I would have taken him here to be our 3rd down back
6-43) the pick we got for sam this year. I take a huge WR who can contribute in the red zone right away and grow into an outside WR. also a great blocker for the shanahan offense who loves WRs who can block

wilson is a given for sure.
I like AVT but wouldn't use our 1st rounder on him. it's a deep O-line class. I hate the RB pick at 2. it's a waste for us right now. I live st brown but again WR isn't a huge need. we have to address the back 7 on defense badly not make luxury picks. I love the moses pick the rest of the draft there are better options/positions to address.

As fans we look for offense too much. in reality we need to address the defense.

We need to address this O lol. Everyone talks about what we didn’t give Sam Darnold but wth are we giving Zac Wilson? Seriously. Corey Davis and what? All O these picks should be.

The game has had a little update it seems, some of the players have been moved around.

Vera-Tucker is a day 1 prospect now for instance, there were others I noticed, Radnuz OT is gone much quicker, you could sometimes get him in the third lol

    we did.
    new QB @2
Davis and cole and mims at WR
Mcgovern, Fant, Becton, Clark, lewis, GVR, feeny at o-line
coleman, adams, ty johnson, perine at RB
    Kroft at TE

thats all the offense we brought in , in the past 2 years meanwhile we are changing to a 4-3 from a 3-4. we added plenty for the d-line what have we done for the back 7? our starting 4 CBs are 2 6th rounders and 2 UDFAs. we have 2 starting safeties on 1 year deals and only 1 back-up. our starting LBers are a guy who hasn't played in 2 years, a 5th rounder who's always hurt, and a former 1st round bust on a 1 year deal with no depth behind them

niether has any rookie when we draft them.
cole is a good WR especially as a WR4. he's a mid tier WR3 talent wise.
lewis has been solid for us, feeny is good depth and has started many games. GVR sucks i'll give you that but an attempt was made
coleman is a good RB for the system as is johnson. adams looked really good last year. perine sucked
krof is a good depth guy for a TE

what have we done for the LBer group?

hewitt isn't on the team. mosley hasn't played in 2 years and never played in a 4-3. the other LBer we have is cashman who is always hurt and missed 21 games out of 32 possible in his career. outside of those 3 we have nobody else other then 2 PS players who have bounced around the league.

for 2021 wilson has davis, mims, crowder, and cole. that's a pretty solid group of WRs plus herndon at TE

With Chase, Smith, Ettine, and Carter it really doesn't matter.

With three first round picks and two second round picks next year we can get our guy.

Maybe the Packers would give us Rodgers for picks.
