Gase was awful, but hiring him may have been the second best move that Chris Johnson made after hiring JD. Gase got rid of Mac, got us the 2nd pick in the draft, and is probably responsible for Adams getting traded as well and as a result gave us that haul to use to build around Wilson. In two years, he did more for our team than any of the GMs or HCs we've had since Parcells, and for decades prior to Parcells.
Sam Darnold's trade yesterday, received with bitter sweet feelings by this Jets fan base, finally puts to eternal rest the cluster fuck era under Mac dubious personnel selection and Gase incompetent coaching. The nightmare is officially over and no longer an excuse moving forward. There is now absolutely no further doubt that JD is on the clock. From here on out, including last years draft and free agency, is the beginning of the JD legacy. Yes he did make a few moves that didn't pan out, and a couple to satisfy that shit head Gase who didn't want them in the first place, but overall at least he understood the dire need to beef up the trenches and to rid this team of overpaid end of their career non contributors. But that is now past history and all future results are on his shoulders. Measure of success will hinge on the quality of this draft, with the QB selection at the very, very top, plus the development of last years early draft picks as they break their way into the starting line up, and lastly, the success of the free agents in critical positions. Best move of the off season was getting the new CS we desperately needed. Now we will see how good our personnel is with proper coaching and how quickly the new draftees find their way into the starting line up and elevate the quality of play. JD honeymoon phase is way gone and the success of this marriage with RS is on the spot line. May our QB selection be the beginning of a bright and successful new era.
I understand. I had a hard time typiing it. LOL Still, it's true. Sometimes awful decisions can wind up working out. If JD is the GM I think he is, then Saleh will be a very good HC, JD WILL build the team via the draft, the QB he picks will be at least a quality starter if not a FQB, and we will become a winning team and contender. That may not have happened without Gase.
So even shorter at 1.78cm not the 1.79cm I said 5ft 8" but for me the way you Americans like to be bigger and all the other lies you hear at the combine about players heights etc which one is likely to be right image uploader Interestingly it lists Wilson as 1.8m which is still 5ft 9" what does your site say? But that aside he is still smaller than 6ft 2" meaning Wilson wouldn't need a step ladder to see over his OL like Boozer was suggesting originally.
he should hit on a right tackle, center, and guard this draft. need to protect whomever is at QB. slide both conner and fant over to guard. new right tackle and center to go with becton.
Well go take it up with Google , again the original point will stand up just fine if he is 5ft 10" or 5ft 8" it is still shorter than 6ft 2" and at 6ft 2" Wilson is needing a step ladder to see the field according to Boomer
With two new guards, Conner is likely to excel at C again, it can't have been easy with those guards next to him collapsing time after time.

JD is on the clock after this FA and Draft season. Not only for what he has - or hasn't - done so far, but because we the fans have run out of patience. Whether that's "fair" to Douglas, that's the reality. I came across this in an article in the NY Post toady about why they traded Darnold: "Darnold is the latest first-round pick to get traded by the Jets. They have moved Sheldon Richardson (2013), Calvin Pryor (2014), Leonard Williams (2015), Darron Lee (2016), Jamal Adams (2017) and now Darnold in recent ye Even for shitty teams, it's generally assumed that they'll at least hit on their first round picks more often than not. But NOT the Jets. It's been said here before but bears saying again: the Jets would've done much better if they just let some of the posters here on TGG draft for the. That's not an exaggeration, that's simply the truth. Douglas needs to hit on the majority - like 75% - of his draft picks, or the drumbeat of firing him will begin.
doens't mean they weren't hits. richardson - we were stacked on the d-line drafted his replacement as well. he had off the field issues. we got a good return (2nd rounder and WR3) didn't have to pay him and he's still in the league as an above average starter pryor - was a bust and we were able to trade him away for a better player williams - again didn't want to pay him, drafted his replacement got a 3rd and a 5th. giants had to shell out 21 mil a year for him. he isn't worth that. good player not great lee - was a bust. gase shipped him off out of spite for a 6th rounder adams - was a beast. all pro player. got 2 1sts that will help build out new team darnold - again shit situation. didn't pan out. got a decent return. in short all these moves between the cap space and picks will help us build a good team now that we have a real GM and what looks to be a good HC. I fully expect to extend Q and becton when the time comes.
People are saying what is the harm in telegraphing your pick at two if you are sold on Wilson? IMO, While I don’t think the leak is coming from the Jets organization, if accurate it can help down stream teams position themselves. For starters, if SF was completely sold on Fields and only Fields, you just gave Miami more ammunition and leverage to trade down the pick at a higher value. Why would you do that? You keep everything close to the vest.
McGovern isn't moving to OG. He is better at C and the Jets like him there. Fant isn't moving to OG, either. The new RT can play OG for a year or two until Fant leaves. That is actually easier on a rookie than playing OT, and Fant does pretty well at RT.
