Seems like a tall ask for a team that just finished with a 2-14 record, no?

I’m all for expecting results starting next year with the FA moves we’ve made so far and the amount of draft capital we have but I’m definitely not going into the season thinking playoffs or bust. Let’s win a few games first and then we can maybe start talking playoffs.

The Panthers are now the team the Jets could have been if they had sealed the deal with Rhule. I wish Sam the best and I will be rooting for him and the Panthers but I am happy to move on.

Time to welcome Zach to NY. I feel much more confident with Saleh, Lefleur and JD that they will build a winning infrastructure around Zach.

We got the best we could to fix a bad situation we helped create. a second in 2022 is not peanuts either.
But most of all, it gives Sam a great chance to compete once again and his option has been extended. He was a class act for us and deserves another fresh start. No regrets. God speed Sam

If it does, then Saleh deserves HC of the year. The goal in 2021 should be for the team to look like it's headed in the right direction going into 2022. There will be growing pains for a rookie HC and players learning a new system. A playoff appearance would be gravy.

Leaf literally went with only his physical ability. He didn't want to put the effort. He also had anger management issues.

well I wouldn’t quite call him a beast yet. He did give up a handful of sacks and was injured and missed what 4 games?

I said IF JD was going to keep Sam, then getting a 3 yr team friendly extension would be better than the 5th yr option.

According to PFT the Panthers are exercising the 5th year option on Sam.

What am I supposed to do with my Darnold funko pop now? that's $15 I will never get back :(

I can't say I am not disappointed (and not just about the funko) - I would have loved to have seen him turn things around but it is what it is - welcome to the NY Jets Zach Wilson (and after spending so many picks on QBs we have to get it right one day right - right?)

no we got a 2nd round pick (next year so the equivalent of a 3rd round pick) as well as a 6th this year and a 4th next year - so basically cents on the dollar - but it was a buyers market and they clearly just wanted to get rid of him
