Decided to try a realistic one and no trades that fits with what we've done so far

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 2: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (A+)
Round 1 Pick 23: Kyle Pitts, TE, Florida (A+)
Round 2 Pick 2: Wyatt Davis, OG, Ohio State (A)
Round 3 Pick 2: Walker Little, OT, Stanford (A+)
Round 3 Pick 22: Anthony Schwartz, WR, Auburn (A+)
Round 4 Pick 2: Trey Sermon, RB, Ohio State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 2: Thomas Graham Jr., CB, Oregon (A+)
Round 5 Pick 10: Ernest Jones, ILB/OLB, South Carolina (A+)
    Round 6 Pick 2: K.J. Britt, ILB/OLB, Auburn (A+)
    Round 7 Pick 23: Damar Hamlin, FS/SS, Pittsburgh (A+)

1-2: My theory is it's time for a new QB and so far I like wilson better at 2 then fields. Ideally i'd look to trade down for mac jones and more picks though. Zach wilson playstyle reminds me of darnold. mac jones reminds me of chad pennington and wuold fit our offense well and the extra picks would be great. anyway since it's a no trade draft I'll take wilson for our new QB

1-23: I was gonna go o-line but pitts was available and I couldn't pass him up. we could trade or release griffin for cap room (maybe get a 7th back) and have herndon and pitts at TE which would be redicilous

2-2: now I focus on o-line. davis was there and fits our zone blocking scheme very well. perfect OG for the shanahan offense.

3-2: Still sticking with o-line I grab little. he's a 1st round talent guy who will fall to the 3rd due to injury and opt out. he hasn't played in 2 years but can be our RT of the future starting in 2022 and we can move on from fant and save money.

3-22: I grab schwartz, probably not my favorite pick as his "game speed" doens't seem to match his clocked speed but he is a speedster we badly need on offense. rotational WR4 as a rookie and hopefully he can grow into a starter at some point

4-2: since we made no moves on the RB front and I really don't like perine I take sermon here. he likely instantly starts for us with ty and adams playing relief roles. I don't see perine sticking around long

5-2: At some point I needed to address the defense. Graham is a 3 year starter who is pretty average but has experiance and coming off an opt out year. this is the round for flyers anyway. he's tough and gritty and plays hard. could be molded to fit our system

5-10: jones projects as an OLB for us which we badly need. probably weakside. he's athletic and we need depth. as it stands now our group is likely mosley at MLB, Davis and cashman at OLB. No other depth really. it's a depth pick

6-2: Sam as above. a depth pick at OLB for us

7:2 finally the last pick I go with some safety depth. maye is tagged on a 1 year deal. davis hasn't shown anything yet but projects to start. no depth really so we need it. I would love to grab wiggins in the mid rounds but he was gone before my 2nd pick in the 3rd round this draft. He projects as a 4th rounder so IRL i'd love to grab him there over sermon if he lasts

Round 1 Pick 2: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (A+)
Round 1 Pick 23: Tyson Campbell, CB, Georgia (A-)
Round 2 Pick 2: Jayson Oweh, DE/OLB, Penn State (A+)
Round 3 Pick 2: Josh Myers, C/OG, Ohio State (A)
Round 3 Pick 22: Anthony Schwartz, WR, Auburn (A+)
    Round 4 Pick 2: James Wiggins, FS/SS, Cincinnati (A+)
    Round 5 Pick 2: Cameron McGrone, ILB/OLB, Michigan (A+)
    Round 5 Pick 10: Patrick Johnson, DE/OLB, Tulane (A+)
Round 6 Pick 2: Kayode Awosika, OT, Buffalo (A+)
Round 7 Pick 23: Pooka Williams, RB, Kansas (A+)

not as goos as my last one. some tough luck. pitts, long, and litle were all taken 1-3 picks before I was gonna grab them. still I think i filled out nicely. schwartz, johnson, and wiggins are in my spotlight thread of late round players to look at. McGrone is a steal in the 5th and i'll spotlight him soon. could be our starting MLB after mosley is done.

This draft was made at PFF. They're nuts. They have Najee Harris rated as the #66 prospect, have Brevin Jordan at 107, and others rated low. I think this draft would be incredible, and they only give it an A-.

MOCK DRAFT RESULTS pff.com/mock DRAFT GRADE

    2 Zach Wilson QB • BYU A+

    23 Teven Jenkins T • Oklahoma State B

34 Asante Samuel Jr. CB • Florida State A-

    66 Najee Harris HB • Alabama B+

86 Chazz Surratt LB • North Carolina B+

107 Brevin Jordan TE • Miami (FL) B+

    146 James Wiggins S • Cincinnati B+

154 Elerson Smith ED • Northern Iowa B+

    186 D'Wayne Eskridge WR • Western Michigan B+

    Overall New York Jets A-

Jenkins is a fantastic RT prospect and he can play RG for a year or two and then move to RT. Adding Wilson, Jenkins, Harris, Jordan, and Eskridge to the offense would be huge, and Eskridge could also give us the best PR we've had in a long time. He could learn from Crowder for a year or two, then take over as the slot WR.

Samuel would help our CB core, Surratt could possibly start at WLB, but would add depth and competition if nothing else, Wiggins could fill our need at SS if he can stay healthy, and Elerson Smith would give us a developmental DE and possibly designated pass rusher.

I love a few picks there. eskridge, wiggins are 2 late round favs of mine. samual at 34 is solid too but think he could be had later. not a huge fan of jenkins at 23 but get the need. actually overall one of the better drafts i've seen.

I just ran this no trade draft

Round 1 Pick 2: Zach Wilson, QB, BYU (A+)
    Round 1 Pick 23: Zaven Collins, ILB/OLB, Tulsa (A-)
Round 2 Pick 2: Wyatt Davis, OG, Ohio State (A)
Round 3 Pick 2: Asante Samuel Jr, CB, Florida State (A+)
Round 3 Pick 22: Amon-Ra St. Brown, WR, USC (A+)
Round 4 Pick 2: Chuba Hubbard, RB, Oklahoma State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 2: Pete Werner, ILB/OLB, Ohio State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 10: Tutu Atwell, WR, Louisville (A+)
Round 6 Pick 3: Adrian Ealy, OT, Oklahoma (A+)

I wanted wiggins as well with my 5th rounder but he went in the late 4th. I do think we need to address the LBer situation. with the switch to a 4-3 we are pretty boned so I see JD drafting a few that fit. right now our starters are mosley coming off 2 years of not playing football and never having played in a 4-3, cashman who is always hurt, and a former 1st round bust on a 1 year contract with very little depth. So i use the 23rd pick on collins who can play any Lber spot for us and is a 3 down backer. likely would start for us as a rookie as well. I also added werner later who could start as a ST/depth OLBer (SAM) and turn into a starter in 2022. outside of that davis is the 2nd is a stud and instant starter at RG over GVR, samual would likely start at CB and great for the zone system. st brown would start off as WR5 as a rookie but find his way into the top 3 by 2022 and beyond. hubbard would start at RB right off the bat. atwell would be a WR6 and a returner and perfect gadget YAC guy for this offense. finally ealy projects as a future starting RT to take over fants spot after a year or 2 of sitting.

I think this is a killer draft, but the folks at PFF evidently didn't like it because I didn't draft a DE. Well, DE isn't a need. This gives 3 great players who are among the top 2-3 at their positions, great scheme fits, and huge positions of need. Slater and Newsome are great values at those spots, as is Carter at #107. I addressed needs at WLB, TE, RB, added another CB, a SS, and our PR and future slot WR. Jordan, Carter, Rochell, Wiggins and Smith are all very fast, and great scheme fits imo. Notice all the stupid C+s. LOL

looks pretty solid to me. not a fan of jordan at 86 if long was avialble. I don't think we draft a TE at all. we have like 5 of them with herndon, kroft, griffin, and wesco already but overall pretty solid draft. I love wiggins really hope we can land him in the 4th or 5th.
I also have no clue why draft sitres see DE as a need. we have lawson and JFM starting and huff, zuniga, and curry roatiitng in. D-line is our deepest best position. I wouldn't expect to draft any d-line

I disagree regarding TE. Wesco is a blocker, not a receiver. Griffin should be cut. Kroft is a backup and a better blocker than receiver. Herndon is not reliable. Jordan is a perfect fit for the Jets' offense. He's fast and excels in YAC.

I totally agree regarding. It's like who ever sets the needs for the Jets for these sites is a 13-year old boy, all he can dream about is getting another Sack Exchange, and has no understanding of building around the rookie QB or that there are positions like OG and CB that have glaring holes.

I think it's a lot more than solid. We'd have either the 1st or 2nd best OL in the draft in Slater. RG problem solved. Greg Newsome II is a great fit for our defensive scheme and #1 CB problem is probably resolved. We get our QB. We get our starting WLB. We get our new starting TE and give a true receiving threat there to go with Mims, Davis and Crowder. We get our starting RB who is a HR threat any time he touches the ball. We get a PR who could actually return a punt or two for TDs and give the offense shorter fields to work with instead of all the fair catches, and our future slot WR who can learn from Crowder this season. We get a very good SS prospect which would make us even better vs the run and add to the variety of interesting D combinations that Saleh and Ulbrich could scheme up to confuse opposing QBs. I've not seen a better rmock draft for the Jets anywhere.

It's not likely that Slater is there at #23 or that Newsome is there at #34, but if even one of them is there, it would be huge. If Slater's not there, maybe Teven Jenkins is. If Newsome's not there, then maybe Tyson Campbell, Eric Stokes, or Melifonwu is.

My biggest issue with the draft which is why it's solid and not great is you ignored the biggest need which is LBer. LBers are important for salehs system. right now we have 5th round oft injured cashman, mosley 2 years out of football and never played in a 4-3, and davis a former 1st round bust on a 1 year deal. that's our starting LBers. and we have 0 depth at LBer. We need to draft at least 2 LBers if not 3. more-so then a TE or even o-line.

For the TEs herndon is a question mark but rookie herndon is a legit TE1. last year herndon was a scrub but he did tend to come on later in the year. Shanahans system likes blocking TEs. I think wesco could excel. kroft is 1 year depth. I agree griffin is ass since the injury. I wouldn't mind long in the 4th, depends on how the chips fall. I wouldn't take an OT at 23 either. I'm thinking more of

    2 wilson
    23 owusu-koramoah
    34 Wyatt Davis

That addresses QB, OG and a versatile LBer who can play any position in salehs system and a 3 down backer to run the defense.

for the later picks guys like long, wiggins, wildgoose, werner, atwell can fill out depth positions. but we really need at least 2 LBers. I do like your pick of cox in the 3rd though but it's not enough

How did I ignore LB? At pick #66 I took Jabril Cox who is a perfect fit in our offense. LB is NOT the biggest need. QB is, and then OG and CB are next. I would put SS over LB as a need. Sorry, but the idea of drafting 2-3 LBs is just flat out nuts. It's not going to happen, nor should it. We're not going to fill every need, but NOTHING is more important than protecting the QB, NOTHING. We still have cap space and there are still LBs available in FA if JD feels a strong need to improve the LB corps.

Shanahan's system likes fast TEs who can both block and catch. Look at Kittle he's one of the top TEs in the NFL in YAC, which is what Shanahan's offense craves.

There's no way a LB should be taken at #23. That either has to be a #1 CB prospect or an OG/OT who can play RG. Worrying about LB is making the same dumb mistake that Mac did after drafting Sam. He drafted D, and didn't focus on building around Sam, and that's one of the chief reasons we are where we are right now, looking to draft another QB.

The D was way ahead of the offense even before Saleh was hired. Now after FA, it's even farther ahead. If I were the GM, I'd tell Saleh that we were taking a CB prospect within the first 3 picks, and would take a SS somewhere in the last 2 rounds, but the rest of the picks were going to offense to try and balance the team. Have you forgotten this past season, how our D was competitive and often looked competent, but the offense was abysmal and had a ton of 3 and outs, which in turn caused our D to tire and eventually collapse by the 4th Qtr? Our offense hasn't even been at an NFL level since 2015, and was awful in 2014, and I think since 2012. 2015 was an isolated blip on the radar.

way off. you did take cox which i said. that means next year our LBers are cox and cashman, maybe mosley. still no depth this year or next. did you not see us lose like 5 LBers last year to injury? Lber is a huge need and very important in salehs defense. Obviously QB is but wilson at 2 answers that. it's a given. i'm talking about picks beyond 2OA. Lber, OG, DB are probably the next 3 needs followed by OT, TE, RB.

Your missing that JD likes the line we have. he drafted clark as a replacement. nothing wrong with becton and fant the next 2 years if need be. 1 OG is more then enough for now. We made the move from 3-4 to 4-3 we need players that fit the system

We'll just have to agree to disagree on some things. I agree that after QB, OG, CB, and LB are the three biggest needs. I also agree that OT, TE and RB and the next three needs. I'm not way off, and I think that you're mistaken that JD likes our OL. Van Roten was a stop-gap signing. He'll be fine as a backup for another year, but isn't really a starting-caliber OG. Lewis is not a starting-caliber OG either, and was our worst OL this past season. He is very replaceable and easily upgraded. Fant is fine for another season or two, but even he could be upgraded. JD loves Becton and likes McGovern.

There's some truth to what you say, but if JD doesn't build around the rookie QB, and instead drafts a bunch of defensive players, he should be fired.

You forget that there will be players released following the draft and during and at the end of TC. JD could easily pick up a stop-gap LB or two before the season starts. Most of the FA $s were spent on D, and the D was already way ahead of the offense. If the team is truly to be more competitive this year, most of the draft has to go to the offense.

I doubt that JD will double dip at any position in the draft, but if he does, it should be at OG, one a starting caliber, and the other a backup/developmental type. I can see him taking a QB, CB, OG, LB, OT, TE, WR, RB, and a SS (not necessarily in that order. I could also see him taking a K with the 6th round pick. I hope that the WR he signs will be our PR.

As far as the injuries last year, that was a freak year. I doubt that it would happen again anyway, but JD took steps to improve our training and conditioning approach, and we should see the benefits of that this season and going forward. I didn't say that LB is not a need or not important in Saleh's D. I just said that we're not going to fill ever need/hole this year, and that depth is going to be thin somewhere, and there will likely be a few starters who are less than desirable. Still the #1 priority should definitely be protecting the QB and building around him. We cannot afford to miss on another QB by making the same dumb mistake as Mac and Tanny, and drafting D instead of offense right after taking a QB in the draft. Neither Lewis nor Van Roten are quality starters. Feeney isn't quality depth. Even if Cam Clark winds up starting, that could still leave one of Lewis or Van Roten starting at the other OG spot, as the rookie may not be ready to start day one. That's why the Jets need to draft either an OG or an OT who will convert to OG early. Fant will be OK for another season, but we need a better backup swing OT than Edoga or McDermott, because injuries happen on the OL too, and not just to LB. The Jets had the worst production in the NFL last year at TE. To say that isn't a glaring need is ridiculous.

The DL is so good, and we have excellent safeties, that we can get by with who we have at LB or as I said, JD could draft a LB and pick up one who is a camp cut and that would improve our starters and depth at LB.

    What is pick 20A?
