It’s probably why he hurt his knee too. He was staring at his first read too long and processing too slow.

Dan fucked up, no doubt about it. As a reporter you have to verify your information. But better late than never. He did reach out to coaches in the video he posted and basically retracted his own story. That's a lot more than what was done in identical situation for Wilson. Coaches had to volunteer to speak up and a lot of people actually went with this bogus report, including some of the same folks who are defending Fields. Dan is being called a racist (I don't agree with that), he reached out to coaches and retracted the story, and is still being vilified. I'd like some consistency where we actually wait for some REAL reports/corroboration before jumping on ANYONE after some anonymous report that smells like shit.

Not for nothing, but this really doesn't mean shit to me when evaluating a QB. Yeah, toughness is ideal in the NFL, but Brady is one of the biggest pussies of life and the greatest QB in history.

I am more worried about tangibles and his on field abilities. I couldn't care less if the guy got rolled on and walked on his own power off the field to throw a nice pass the next drive.

His biggest issue still remains that he stares down his receivers. I don't care what was posted above. One team broke down every pass he threw in 2020. He looked off the primary target in just 7 attempts.

I mean he pump fakes and then rolls out away from pressure. Do a lot of quarterbacks go through progressions when they're pinned against the sideline?

The quick “processing” ones who understand the “mental” part of the game do.

Well then you are watching him through rose colored glasses because he stares down almost every receiver he throws to. That's an opinion held by many that is proven when you watch his tape.

I’m confident in my own opinion. I don’t need it to be aligned with the opinion held by many.

remember confidence is the food of the wiseman and the liqour of the fool

I hadn't seen your eye test of looking for the things I asked you to take a look at. It seems you are shutting off any negatives on fields and refuse to see them

Please be careful as some of us are very sensitive around here about our babies.

But it was also a joke wrapped in a "truthful" criticism from the "experts" about him for what it's worth.

And you are free to judge and make your own opinion. 100%. I am not implying you should share the same opinion as many.

What I am saying is that he stares down receivers. That is a fact that is proven out in all of his film. Whether you think that will matter or not, is your opinion, but the fact remains, he stares down receivers.

I generally disregard QB evaluation takes that over generalize with words like “can’t”, “never”, “always”...etc. With regards to Fields’ negatives I acknowledge them, they are just not as big an issue to me as they are to some. We all do not value and fear the same things. For example, I showed a clip displaying Fields’ toughness and someone responded I don’t give a shit about that which is a totally fair opinion to have. Some like toughness in their QB. Reports out in San Francisco is that one of the issues they have with Jimmy G is his toughness or lack thereof.

Take a look at this, starting at 5:45 for about a minute or so. I couldn't care less what Todd's opinion is, but he does reference a report that found only 7 throws were not to primary target out of 100s he attempted. I am not sure if this report is legit, but the thing is, Justin kind of said himself he waits for the first/second read, and doesn't really go beyond that since that would be worse for the team. Listen to his post Pro Day interview. Now, I understand you've seen the tape and disagree, but is what Justin is saying not true? Again, for me, I would take him in a heart beat after TL/Zach, since I think he can develop, but this is a legitimate question that he himself doesn't really deny.

My fact is that all these QB prospects stare down WRs to various degrees. It’s a very common trait among young QBs. I have yet to come across too many QB prospects not guilty of this. Maybe you think Wilson doesn’t but my eyes behind my Fields “rose colored glasses” have seen him do it too.

Obviously quarterbacks all do this, especially young ones, but Fields does it at an alarming rate. Again, there is a reason why it is a widespread concern around the league and with fans. You may not give a shit if one team researched this and found only 7 throws that he did not stare down, but again, the fact remains a fact.

Wilson has flaws as well. I am not sitting here claiming Wilson does not and Fields does. Wilson's talent level he played against is very alarming and something I have stated numerous times on this board. But you seem to want to shoot down any flaw Fields has and just claim he's the best option and the best prospect.

Take it for what it's worth - this is a Bay area beat reporter but I think he's right. Maybe others see it but I don't really see Matt Ryan in Mac Jones. I see AJ McCarron as a much more realistic comparison given the ties to the program and system.
