Don't know if he's IT, nobody can claim they know any of that entering a draft. I know Sam isn't. Therefore you move on to the guy who you think could be. See Rosen to Kyler.
We're Jets fans - our draft classes are always "one more year" away from competing. If you can't elevate yourself over a 2-14 roster full of bums, you're part of the problem.
Would you be opposed to Fields if JD and CS think he is more of a IT? my point is you seem so set on with him and was wondering why and what you’re basing on? I certainly don’t know who should be that #2 pick presuming JD is going with a QB here. But I don’t think you can eliminate Fields from consideration.
No one knows if Zach Wilson is IT. I would be opposed to Fields. I do not like him as a prospect. Just personal opinion
People are in such a hurry to move on from Sam Darnold only to replace him with Sam Darnold Plus. Sometimes we really do get what we deserve as fans.
There is nothing comparable about Zach Wilson and Sam Darnold, from the point they left college. This is a BS generalization. Give me 1 reason that Sam should be the guy. I'll wait. And base it in facts.
So I should circle around and repeat the same arguments that have been made for months, for your benefit? Judging from the less than cogent posts you've made on the subject, you're not worth it.
Regarding Sam ...I was once all in on him too. Well we all make mistakes right? Darnold wont be sticking around as our "backup" either imo. So move this Train along! Gimme Wilson or Fields and roll the Dice with them
Sam is very young. He looked awesome in his second year when he came back from mono. We went all in to move up and get him based upon what we saw from him coming out of college. I am not saying that we don't have reasons for concern but it boggles my mind that you guys can look at Wilson, Fields, etc. and want to go all in on a guy that has no more upside than Sam did when we took him three years ago. Those other guys mean giving up on a boatload of picks that will give us weapons, defenders, and an offensive line while we are giving up a third round pick, maybe a second rounder to keep Sam. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing an expecting a different result.
https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...ng-pressure-to-find-franchise-qb-immediately/ “I say that just because … if you put all the other pieces into place and now you start going forward, when that guy does show up, when that guy is in the right position, you can grab him,” Rivera said, via Rhiannon Walker of TheAthletic.com. “I went through it the other way my first stint as a head coach in Carolina. We drafted the guy of the future for us in the first round. … At that point, we had not put all the other pieces around Cam Newton." “So, I’ve always thought if you can do it the other way where you put all the other pieces around and then go out and get your quarterback, that might be a pretty good situation, too. … I’ve seen a lot of teams that have had things in place then drafted their quarterback next year. This could be one of those situations where we put all the other pieces in place and then a year or two from now, the right guy is there and we can make that move.”
I guess not a ginger in it's truest form though. As far as McElroy goes, he's an excellent CFB announcer who they should've considered for Monday Night Football to replace the clown show. So don't disrespect Roy maaaaaan.
I think in football where you go can have a large impact on your career trajectory. I’m not a fan of the abstract term “IT” but I think the only thing that would allow Sam to overcome the bad hand was given is having “IT”. Sam like Sanchez and Geno before him contribute to the sick as opposed to curb it.
