the only play in this game that mattered to me was when Fields got his ribs smashed and subsequently came back and torched Clemson.

anyone have rib injuries? You can’t breathe let alone try to put your body into a pass. Didn’t look like much velo came off the passes either post injury.

That is the kind of shit that will get your teammates to run through walls for you.

The kid is a stone cold killer and I expect he will be a nice NFL QB.

Young is a mentor to Wilson. I’m guessing it’s pretty real.

The Niners may want to swap picks with the Jets, but in terms of 1st round picks, they shot their wad moving up to #3. They possibly would have to give the Jets Kittle or Bosa and their first 4 rounds draft picks at a minimum. As much as I believe in Wilson and want him as the Jets' QB, getting Kittle or Bosa, the #3 pick, and the Niners' 2nd, 3rd and 4th round picks this year, and then being able to take Fields at #3 would be very tempting.

Meeting with Darnold's parents and his soft promise to "take care of" their son. Wining and dining is hyperbole. I wonder if he had the same conversations with Braden Mann's parents.

    The Trubisky trade was 2 3rds and a 4th.

WHAT? The Bears gave up two thirds and a fourth to move up for Trubisky and that was an absolute fleecing. Your scenario is ridiculous.

2 3rds and a 4th for drafted Watson or Mahomes would have been a fleecing the other direction.

Yes, but this situation is very different imo. Wilson and Fields are both more talented and a lot better than Trubisky can dream of being. The Niners ostensibly traded up to have a shot at Wilson, and if what Steve Young said is accurate, they still are trying to get him. If JD really believes in Wilson and wants him, he shouldn't even be willing to trade down, but if he is willing to trade down, he shouldn't settle for 2-3rds and a 4th. He ought to make the Niners pay a lot to get him. After all, he could be trading a QB who would lead SF to several SB wins and could have done the same for the Jets in a couple of years.

49rs don't have any picks left to offer to the Jets. They just spent their next two 1st round picks to move up.

They have some nice players though...

If Wilson wants to play for them and doesn’t really want to be here, I’d love for a trade down for picks/ players and then would just take Fields at 3.

If the Jets want Wilson and he’s excited to play here then it’s a different story

He's probably one of the most protected guys at the entire organization because while their NFL coverage team is a mess, their Gameday crew and coverage is top notch.

Clips no one has seen because only this year's film matters.

Of course these are highlights, but still: Wilson can run a little bit too when needed, though needs to learn to slide more. I like the one at 1:03 mark, that was pretty cool, shows off some athleticism as well. One thing is for sure, we will not be getting a pocket statue with him.

To be fair, he stared at one WR the whole time so it’s easy to confuse which year that play came from ;)
