Same shit was about Zach before - to me it is more people just putting someone down who did well, like this was after success in Fields pro day, maybe even to try to influence some folks, so he slides? But this whole bit was about Simms, he mentioned Simms by name too later. I am not sure he knows this was Orlovsky, and if he does, that also doesn't make sense, since this was around Simms. He missed the mark to the point where I believe Dean disliked Simms for something he did not say after listening to this Parody. Again, this was a minor point though, overall, it was quite funny.
Don't think Fields makes it out of top 10. I dont know who trades with New England in the top 10. I don't see Atlanta doing it or Bengals who like Pitts/Sewell. Broncos and Panthers both need QB's...I don't see Fields going past Rhule
Do you know what he dislikes Simms so much? Is it just because hyped Wilson so much, or was it something else?
I do believe people are starting nitpicking everything Zach Wilson related lately because of the hype.
Probably cause Simms has been right so many times on his QB draft rankings without being a "guru". Probably just jealous lol
One thing he kept bringing up is that Simms said that for last few weeks he studied all the tapes and didn't watch throughout the season. He kept bringing this up again and again and again, saying I studied this hard (not soft or medium) for the past week. Whatever it is, but he attacked him pretty viciously on that video, it was fun!
Him making it out of the top 3 is a complete slap in the face to his talent & accolades. If the questions about his motivation are true, the NFL will be providing him plenty.
I love Fields' competitiveness, focus, and mental toughness. You either have that or you don't. Lots of other stuff can be learned, or unlearned, in the right environment. Does Wilson have it? I've seen answers both ways. If Fields drops past 2 he is going to have a MASSIVE chip on his shoulder. I hope he doesn't land in the AFC, or, the gods forbid, New England or Miami. (for the record I have no idea which is the better pick for the Jets, it probably doesn't matter much, both guys seem great and I have no doubt whichever one we pick, the other will go on to greatness)
Not too fast: ordered a hot tub to wrong address, his mom's house. Even Trent Dilfer didn't appreciate that one.
So much of what makes a great QB can't be measured with a tape measure. Can't be measured at the combine or proday. That gray matter between the ears is tricky stuff. Trying to figure out if a QB has what it takes to become a top QB is like trying to measure the charge of a photon particle you can't see or measure directly! .
This is where the good front line scouts are separated from the bad. The Gm & lieutenants are doing all the eval grades & stacking the draft board in terms of the talent piece. The scouts who go to the college practices, build relationships w the right people behind the scenes, ask the right questions & are good judges of character are the ones who give their franchises competitive advantages. This notion is only heightened w the Quarterback position.
Fields is going to be good. Even after the Alabama game, some were saying he played poorly, I didn't think so. It was not spectacular, but a decent outing against a better opponent. Could have had 3 passing TDs easily if WRs did a tad better. As far as the video above, he was not going through 4 reads. 1, maybe 2 reads on each example. He even admitted himself post Pro Day typically that's what he does, and doesn't need to go beyond that. Can he do that though? Teams need to project, not just see what exactly he is doing now in current offense with current players, and I think he will develop into a good QB in the League. I think Shanahan, while looks like originally targeted Mac, at this time will not let him fall past #3, if he gets there.
Fields fans will like this. I think it does do a good job of highlighting his strengths. But I have to also say that it's clear that O'Sullivan is reacting to the obvious complaints that he was a Wilson Fan Boi. Still, he didn't make anything up so I think it's a good break down. Speaking of Orlovsky parodies, this is hilarious. Nailed the dirty screen and using absurd objects as pointers too.
