I'm starting to lean that way myself. After Trask looked so bad, I watched 3 games of Lance's and an analysis of both Lance and Wilson by J.T. O'Sullivan (former NFL QB) and also analysis of both by Matt Waldman and Marc somebody). Lance has his question marks, but he does a lot of things well, has a big arm that looks much more accurate than the one game he played this year, and I like his prototypical size. I'm not sure that he will be able to run effectively in the NFL, however. He may have to be more like Rothlisberger and just be mobile in the pocket.
O BYU was more talented than all the teams they played this year including Coastal Carolina. They have 3 WR’s who are good - Gunner Romney, Dax Milne and Neil Pau’u. Both Gunner and Dax were on the Biletnikoff award watch list. Dax ended up being a semifinalist + has just declared for the NFL draft and has drawn comparisons to Cooper Kupp... To say BYU was not talented to boost Wilson is not true. They were favorites in all games this year.
That team is not top school talent. I really dont know how anyone says they were. Watch the film. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk
Their starting Qb, RB, WR, TE are all NFL level players. They are not a top talented college team, though... my point is that they play an easy schedule.
Trask had his pro day Yesterday. Would still prefer to have him with our second rounder, than using the second overall on Wilson or Fields. Am I the only one?
I was early on the Trask bandwagon as I really liked his ability to manage a game and be consistently accurate (unlike Darnold who flashes). While I do still think he can be a solid pro, his arm showed limitations in that Alabama game without his elite weapons. He’s likely more Matt Cassel vs Matt Ryan.
You can say a lot of things about Sam but you can't say that he isn't mobile. A QB doesn't need to run a 4.4 forty to be able to move around in the pocket or move the chains on a run.
