These situations aren't equal. We may not have another pick with this much swap value for 20 years. The pick literally had "championship team building" written all over it. The perfect storm to stock our team with blue chip talent for years lined up this season, and we are passing it by to draft QB leftovers. The opportunity to draft a non first pick QB top 10 is pretty common for us, and would have been easy, even if it took a little bit of the extra capital the swap earned us. The path we are on right now is a very SOJs path.

When is a player going to have a bad pro day? Keep the hype going. Today JD is in Gainsville watching Pitts. Actually Lamar Jackson had a bad pro day as I recall. We know how that turned out.

I’ve heard 2 commentators on 2 separate networks today say in regards to the that Wilson/Fields debate that the bust will be whoever the Jets pick. It’s a cheap shot but it’s not baseless per both organizations’ history.

Yeah, but Shanahan made no plans with with Fields yesterday pre workout. Fields was saying he hasn't heard from them and is going for dinner with friends. If Shanahan planned to meet with him, Fields would have known. Next thing we know Shanahan calls Fields, who is flying out to California the very same day! You think it has something to do with how the Pro days went? It's certainly logical to deduce so.

it could be. all teams are doing their due dilligence. 49ers traded up for a QB. thy already said as much. it makes sense to spend as much time as possible with all the top QBs that could be there at 3

Its no baseless because we don't have nearly the foundation in place to draft a QB yet. We are not ready to invest in a QB and put them in a position to succeed. This should have been a straight up team building draft with the massive bounty that fell in our lap.

they also went out and traded for garrapolo knowing his limitations and gave him a huge deal for an unproved QB at the time. shannahan thinks he can plug any QB in his system and make it work but there are traits he likes above others.

JD & Saleh have my trust until they give me reasons to take it away.

That seems to be the straw we cling to.

We have enough draft capital to build around whichever QB is taken at 2.

Straight cannon? Definitely not! He had to put his whole body into it. Wilson flicked his wrist, and barely broke stride. Wilson's arm is definitely stronger.

His limitations at the NFL level were rather unknown. If the type of offense you are describing is what they ultimately wanted to stay with, they wouldn't be so quick to want to move on. He checks all the boxes for what they want to do in your eyes.

Quick release, pocket passer, good at throwing short timing patterns, etc.

Any pick can bust, not just QBs.

There is a difference between having he capital and having the team in place. We are putting the horse in front of the cart.

If we take a QB at 2 our remaining capital isn't that great. Its slightly above average.

Becton, McGovern, Fant on the OL. Davis, Mims, Cole, and Crowder at WR. Adams, Johnson, and a rookie at RB. Not a great offensive core, but there are pieces who can help a young QB.

It’s more like he was scared of Allen like GMs were scared of Mahomes, Watson, Lamar, Herbert...etc. and now Fields. I’m the weirdo that gets scared of Trubisky, Baker, Darnold and now Wilson.

What did you think when the Jets drafted Darnold in 2018 then? The roster was in way worse shape and the Jets had barely any picks to fix it.

That is the same offense as last year but replaced Perriman with Davis and Burrious with Cole. Its not that much better. We need to build an offense with pro bowlers and no weakness's. Not just serviceable. Practically every player on that list needs to be upgraded.

We trick ourselves into thinking we are better then we actually are every offseason.

Add Teddy Bridgewater to the list. Mac Jones wasn’t so hot yesterday either despite what the media might want to tell you.

except he has had 4 years with SF. only played a full season once. mind you it was a good season but overall he hasn't been able to stay healthy and hasn't helped the team do much.
