For sure but the whole rationale behind the trade could be a colossal fuck up. That said I have no opinion on Tua as of yet.
You've done this a couple times now where you try to spin a good thing as a bad thing or try to spin a bad thing as a good thing. A quick release is good. Jimmy G is being replaced for other reasons. You and I both know that. You did the same thing when talking about how Fields takes a lot of sacks, you listed a bunch of good QB's who also happen to take a lot of sacks. They succeed despite taking a lot of sacks, it's not a positive component of their game that contributes to their success. You did it yet another time trying to act like some coaches or scouts prefer a slow release over a quick one. You walked it back shortly after but still. Just a tornado of faulty logic.
Absolutely that game did it. He WAS under a lot of pressure, but he still completed clutch passes when he had to. Driving the length of the field with under 35 seconds to go was special. I'm not sure why you can't see that.
Fields looked good today. He’s got a big arm, he’s athletic and is durable. For me his ceiling is Russell Wilson and his floor is Vince Young. That’s the only concern I have is his ability to process information against a solid D and it was the only concern I had about Vince Young.
Shanahan also wants his offense to look more like it did in Atlanta. It was modified because Garroppolo was a fit in a quick passing offense ala New England and he can't throw the ball down the field.
I would actually be fine with either one - all the while knowing whichever one the jets choose won't get a second contract from them...
That is the heart of Shanahan quick strike system. Strong run to set up the pass. All routes have a bunch of different variations to confuse the D. Super quick reads. Find the WR with the most separation quickly, fire an accurate ball. Rinse, repeat.
