I don't. None of these QBs have the problems that Sam had with TOs (both interceptions and fumbles), with poor footwork/mechanics, poor accuracy, poor decision making, and maybe inability to read Ds. Also people seem to have forgotten that Sam only started for parts of two years, and his 2nd year was much worst than his first. He only had one good year as a starter. Wilson had two good years, with one of them being very good and he saved the best for last, but people try to say that he only had one good year, yet conveniently forget that Sam only had one good year.
No need to apologize. No harm done. I just thought that's what you meant based on the rest of your post, reactions to other posts, and your other posts. I thought you might want to edit/fix it.
Its so much easier to win/build a team with a rookie contract at QB. So it’s extra picks vs a lot of extra cap space. I’ll take the potential franchise QB + the cap space.
Ya, I think more and more that's exactly what JD's gonna do, and when he does and it's a done deal, we'll all look around and think 'it's so clear now, we never shoulda discussed anything else'!
They don't have to have similar traits. They may like both guys, even though some traits are different.
It's hard to follow at times, but three guys share their analysis of Wilson, Fields and Lance. It's interesting, with some points I haven't heard/seen mentioned before.
Just to show that I don't just post positive stuff on Wilson, following are some negative plays from 2019 mixed in with some good.
Can you imagine the scenes on here if we traded all those picks away for Mac Jones, hell, we can't even agree on Fields or Wilson yet
Well to simply put it in context, one of those throws was scripted to within an inch of its life, the other happened live in a game. Now, which one is the better throw?
I don't think he was trying to make Wilson's look easy, just trying to scale down the hype, for what was essentially a scripted throw in shorts. Sam's was similar not in length but in the shape of their body's and motion of the throw. I am not advocating for Sam to be the QB just explaining my take on the guy's tweet, he is probably just pissed off at the hype being thrown about, I know it was annoying while watching to hear them whooping at everything from a 4-yard pass to a 40-yard pass. Not much mention of the one he fired at the blokes' ankles from 4 yards away though
You should have seen the one that developed leading up to the Sam draft. One guy's hatred of Mayfield was legendary I think he is still gazed and confused by it all now tbh
It's honestly no comparison. Darnolds throw is ridiculously hard given the pressure, arm angle, velocity. Throwing a football 50 yards deep is not difficult for any QB, yes he was fading away but hes not in a gear, nor has any defense chasing him. But ultimately these 2 plays should not be compared on the rate of difficulty. Both can be appreciated for their circumstances. Ppl dont want to give props to Darnold as if it's going to prevent JD from drafting their favorite QB lol. Personally for I wouldn't mind Jets drafting Wilson, Lawrence, and Fields is growing on me also. For me, the biggest thing for these new guys will be the NY pressure. Can they handle the NY media and spotlight? This is what makes or breaks a QB for me. Because I know Sam has dealt with losing seasons, Mono, injuries, seeing ghosts, crappy coaching and he still able to carry himself as a professional.
