Let's say we do take Fields. There are two good WR prospects in the 2022 draft he's familiar with(Olave and Wilson). An argument could be made that we should grab one of them and forego taking one this year.

It does not. What will determine if any of the Qb's succeed is how quickly the game slow downs for them and they keep turn overs to a minimum.

half ass in what way. i've been right a lot more then i've been wrong. had the jets done the plans i've laid out any of the past few years we'd be looking pretty dam good right now. even if i'm an idiot and it's all dumb luck and random you can't argue with the results

i'm talking about as a pure thrower. nothing to do with size, height strength etc. his film is very similar to bakers as a passer

Did you not read what I said? Your response reads as though I said the opposite.

I get it but if you add to Baker a couple inches in height, 20 pounds, top tier arm strength, speed & athleticism, it immediately elevates him as a prospect and he was already a 1st overall pick.

Who cares. He will fail in the NFL.

That sounds like a greater positive than negative.

If Baker had Fields' measurables, he'd have been the next "generational" talent.

you said nobody can blame me for having half ass takes. makes it seems like your saying my take is half assed? not sure what I missed there? unless you mean it in a positive way as saying that at least I do my homework?

It was a dorsey move. thinking he's smarter then everyone else. baker should have never went 1st. he should have been the 4th QB taken based on film. it should have went darnold, allen, jackson, baker, rosen. obviously in hindsight you'd go allen, jackson, baker, darnold, rosen.

Fields can be good in the right system with the right team around him. Carolina would be perfect for him. he doesn't fit well for us. and I don't think he has top tier potential. i think he has at best above average starter but a high bust chance and everything has to be just right for him

it's really not. it's not really a negative or positive.

So if he plays like a guy that went first overall and is experiencing some success in the NFL with probably about equal arm strength, but is bigger and faster that's not a positive?

A Baker with more upside should be welcomed with open arms. Especially with the original having two good seasons out of three.

It meant the complete opposite. It meant your take had no gray area; it was clear what your position is.

GMs are fired & hired based on results not what should have happened. Based on the results so far CLE made the right decision.

We’ll see. Time resolves all draft debates.

baker went to a perfect situation. if they took darnold baker would be a failure with the jets and we'd be replacing him right now. fields needs to go to a perfect fit. he isn't as flexible of a prospect as you'd like.

    ah gotcha.

and as far as cleveland goes allen or jackson would have been better. baker is holding them back. I wouldn't say it was a great pick for them but dorsey did build a hell of a team and yet he was still fired after 2 season.

I totally disagree. I think you're blinded by your man-love for Fields.

Olave is good. He may have made Fields look better than he is

I get what he's saying. Size is just measurables and if you watch Baker Mayfield play its not really his size that is causing the issue anyway. Both guys (fields & mayfield) have good arms and accuracy but have troubles seeing the field and feeling the rush.

Its concerning especially since Fields, if the Jets draft him, will be going to a team with a below average O-line and wide receivers that won't be open.

Yeah we can probably build a line in 2 /3 years, but thats usually when we give up on QBs anyway...

“Man-love” that’s exactly what it is.
