There's still a month ahead of us until the draft but I'm already tired of all the same stuff every day like hamsters in a wheel. To break things up a bit I figured this might help... `Angry Jets fans` invade Chicago for NFL draft, and boo everything - YouTube
I went to Day 2 at Radio City back in 2012. I made a poster titled "QUITTIN' COPLES" with a pic of him holding his helmet looking like a schlep. I think I posted a pic of it on here back then. The security guard confiscated it. Then the Jets traded up in the second round! We were gonna get Alshon Jeffery - the big time SEC WR that fell because he was a little over weight. And then ...... Stephen Hill. We left immediately. Drink and screaming profanities. Didn't stick strong for the third round. You guys remember back then? Most of the board was banging the table for Melvin Ingram/Chandler Jones in the first and Jeffery in the second? That's why when someone says "I'll trust the GM over an internet poster" I take it with a grain of salt lol.
I fell out of touch with the draft during those years while I was in college so I can't really say I had a definitive player that I wanted in the 2012 draft. As soon as I heard Couples character concerns and low motor but "Rex is definitely the guy that can get it out of him," I knew the pick was doomed. Same thing with 9 catch-in-college but a good run blocker Stephen Hill. As far as draft moments, it sticks out in my head that I was super frustrated by Darrin Lee with the three receivers to follow on the board. Turns out I was wrong about all four for the most part. Was also super amped for Gholston like most were. Also - the back to back safety thing was fucking mind blowing considering all the money they just spent on the secondary.
