And I'll point out for nyjunc, the NY Post sent Lenn Robbins, their top college guy, who has had articles in the paper all week. WFAN is airing the game, every outlet in NY sports has been covering it.

    Go RU!!!!!

Oh the irony when most of our rookies come from these teams next draft

Rice goes for 16 on the first play of the game. Set the tone.

I'm stunned beyond words that there isn't a game thread for this one.

W/ all the millions of RU fans and w/ NY being so into this game I am shocked too:grin:

Congrats to RU on their first ever bowl win, hopefully it's the first of many. I do want them to win I just will never buy that NY will become a Rutgers town.

That's what this was supposed to be, but I'm not used to the new forums yet. My bad.

And junc, being the dominant D-1 football team in the market and captivating the city are two different things. You keep misinterpreting one for the other. Although the Empire State Building lit up in scarlet last month was a nice sign of things to come.

You have stated they are big and will become huge in this area and they are not big now and I will be less shocked if the jets win the SB this year winning their 4 postseason games by an average of 40 points than I would if Rutgers became a factor in the NY sports scene.

That's not what I ever said, I said they are part of the NY market and they clearly are. The topic on WFAN right now, in fact.

Cincinnati and West Virginia silenced the Rutgers fans.

No they didn't. It is a slow time of year, as ppl are actually with family.

I was at Olive Branch last night for the game. It was a lot of fun.

The Cincinnati game deflated the Rutgers fans (and the bandwagon ones who used to be Miami and Michigan fans, etc.).

I was out of town the night of the Rutgers-West Virginia game. I expected to see multiple pages in the game thread. Turned out there were only a few posts. Early December wasn't a slow time.

They beat a bad Purdue team. All these bowl games so far stink, there are way too many of them. CFB NEEDS a aplayoff, they need to determine a true Champion.
