When Atlanta shows it's hand JD will make a move. Cianci wants the tackle So do the Jets which is why they are waiting.
Another thing to consider re: the Eagles wanting to trade to #3 but only for Wilson: Douglas and Roseman worked together for quite some time. Not unreasonable to think Douglas might have told Roseman that Wilson isn't going to be there at #3.
Ohio St hasn’t even had their pro day yet. Are they making that trade before getting a 1 or 1 look at him? Lance and Jones have already had their Pro Days, and are better fits in SF offense. I think it’s Lance, but they will keep Jimmy G for another year while Lance learns. fwiw I predicted awhile ago Lance stock was gonna rise after his Pro Day.
If he did that then he's an idiot. You don't tip your hand because even if the team you do it with isn't a competitor, whats to stop them from using the information to help a team in your division, which is exactly what happened. I'm sure JD didn't say anything.
I would take Lance, I have already said so on here but he has to sit and maybe play a few garbage time downs.
I mean, it seems like an open secret that the Jets are taking Wilson. From many different sources and for many different reasons. It's not like JD is protecting the nuclear launch codes.
It only takes one team to fall in love with his skill set and character. His ceiling is very high. I think that’s exactly what happened with SF. agreed about sitting him a year. SF also in a good position to do so with Garropollo there.
Yeah, I would loved to have traded down, bagged some extra picks and then took him at 12 but as you say, that isn't going to happen, it could very well be the first 4 picks are QB's and 5 in the top 10 maybe.
The SF trade almost 100 percent confirms that the Jets are taking Wilson. With SFs connection to Saleh they would know what the Jets are doing and would have made the same offer with likely more to get the Jets pick if they thought it was possible. Welcome to NY Zach!!!
I totally disagree! Mack is 30 already and has a huge contract. Passing up a potential FQB and not even getting a high draft pick this year? That would be absolutely stupid and a fireable offense.
It may make more sense for the Jets, but not for Sam. It's not fair to Sam. He would have a tremendous amount of pressure on him here this year, and if he plays badly is likely to get booed off the field. It's not really fair to the Jets or their fans, either. If JD can get at least a 3rd for Sam, he should be traded regardless of who is left in FA at QB. JD could have signed Beathard earlier. No, he had to wait to see all the Pro Days, when he should have been able to make a decision weeks ago imo.
Fuck! There goes trading Sam for anything decent. I swear for every good move JD makes, he makes one or two stupid moves. He really is too slow making decisions. He's a pussy. He has to build consensus and make everyone happy. Fuck that! I want a GM who knows what he's doing, is decisive, and gets things done. I'm really starting to dislike and distrust JD.
If so, that's good, but he killed any value that Sam had, and is going to finish Sam off putting him under all the pressure he'll be under here this year.
