I brought this concern up about Lawrence a few months ago, not because I think I know anything, but because when comparing him to Fields on paper the numbers looked concerning; I actually did a double take. After that I watched him play and his more beanpole-like build was like something I couldn't unsee. It certainly hasn't affected him on the field so far, and in fact he often initiates contact and wins at the collegiate level, but the NFL is a whole nother animal. https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/zach-wilson-better-than-lawrence.94737/page-3#post-4006224
Lawrence is strong as an ox though dude. I don't really care what he's listed at. Linebackers absorb his hits. Not the other way around.
Hope everyone's ready for the next coming of Mahomes/Brady/Manning/Montana In all seriousness I don't think we should make much of pro days unless it's a disaster. Looking forward to watching Wilson throw though.
Yeah he does man. He ate up safeties and linebackers. Not something you want your FQB doing though. Josh Allen is the same height and plus 30 pounds and he's the only QB in the league that really looks comfortable delivering blows.
These televised Pro Days are just eye candy for us football junkies. But much of their value will be in what the teams can see up close and in interviews (if these are done). I doubt there is anything any of us will see that will change our minds.
Lawrence has the frame to become absolutely gigantic. He's on the skinnier side currently but he's just a massive human. Tall, huge head, big hands. Has potential to be built like Newton eventually.
Haha I didn't even look at it like that cause you're right. He fucked some guys up in college. It'll be cool if he does it in the pros too. Allen did as soon as he got to the league. Huge head is right.
Speak for yourself buddy. Also w/ regards to Allen I told everyone on here who would bother to listen that his accuracy concerns were way overblown.
To be fair Allen was the least accurate QB in the league his first two seasons. He had to redo his throwing motion in the offseason prior to last season to correct it. Many guys not willing to change or put in the work to do so.
Anyone who watched Mahomes at Texas Tech and thought there was nothing out of the ordinary needs to have their eyes checked.
Tackling Trevor would be like trying to tackle a long wet strand of spaghetti. No matter how hard you hit him you just don't feel anything in return! I used to think the same thing about Robbie Anderson when he came in as an udfa...never thought he'd make it thru TC. Boy was I wrong!
